Two Bosses Enter: Season 3 lineup brings in raid boss debut

We've logged plenty of hours in patch 4.3 and are now familiar enough with the new bosses and cast of characters to begin Two Bosses Enter Season 3: The Cataclysm Finals. With the third season of Two Bosses Enter, we say goodbye to Cataclysm and World of Warcraft's third expansion. Let's go out in style -- explosions, fighting, brutality, and just a little bit of fun.
Season 3 will work just a little differently than season 2 did. There are 11 contestants in season 3 that come from the new 5-man instances introduced in patch 4.3, all of which you've probably seen countless times while running your weekly allotment of heroic dungeons. The other five contestants are a bit more peculiar. Lord Godfrey will return as reigning champion to fight in this series of matches and defend his title, while the other four spots on the roster will be filled by the first four bosses in the Dragon Soul raid, The Siege of Wyrmrest Temple. Your 16 combatants are ready to rumble.
In the past, raid bosses were not really a part of Two Bosses Enter because of their accessibility and general place in the WoW community. While many people know who Baleroc or Majordomo Staghelm are, not as many people have actually been involved in the fight, face-to-face with the bosses themselves. With the introduction of the Raid Finder, more players than ever are experiencing the raid content WoW has to offer. More players know who Hagara, Morchok, and the rest are. With newfound accessibility and pervasiveness, we can now accept into the ranks of the Two Bosses Enter combatants our current raid bosses. These are exciting times for all of us.
Recapping the exhibition season
You all were very gracious for letting me have a little fun with Two Bosses Enter and the exhibition season for the past few weeks. I greatly appreciate your giving me that freedom, and thanks to Alex Ziebart, the man himself, for handing me the reins of this show in the first place.
Last season, the tournament held an exhibition series of matches that brought some of the lesser-known faction leaders to the spotlight, giving players a new look at some old faces they may have forgotten over the years or just never knew existed. Many people expressed happiness and fondness over seeing an NPC that had been a staple of their play experience at one point now back to hit their nostalgia button.
Brann Bronzebeard, lovable high explorer of the Explorer's League, dominated early with a built-in fanbase and great fightfiction (it's a new word that I just made up for what it's called when you write about a match) that put him at the top of the charts. Silly antics, accidental Old Gods, and an explosion or two paved the way for a tide of support throughout the entire season.
One interesting characteristic about the season was the number of blood elf combatants that were part of the roster. Honestly, I did this on purpose. I wanted to see how far I could get my favorite race in the tournament. I stacked the deck. For this, I am sorry, but we had to be sure. We had to know so future generations will know for certain that a blood elf will never, ever win Two Bosses Enter.
With the final fight of the season a matchup between two brothers and a generally light atmosphere with these particular matchups, I decided the fight should not be a fight at all-- no, rather, a drinking challenge. For dwarves with the hardiest of stomachs and the ironest of livers will compete for honor and glory. A great victory was to be had. Brann's cunning eventually overhelmed Muradin's brute strength to give Brann the top spot as king of the tournament exhibition season one. Congratulations again, Brann!

Week 5 Murozond vs. Archbishop Benedictus.
Got a feeling this will be a close one....
clundgren Jan 9th 2012 5:21PM
This is Sylvanas' to lose.

Echo of Sylvannus vs Yor'sajh - well, both these fighters do not move an inch during their respective fights (except vertically), both summon adds that track slowly towards them. Sylvannus isn't affected by mana-void and has periods of complete invulnerability and her adds can cause extreme damage, and she can range down oozes while Yor'sajh would get hit by everything... doesn't lead me to agree with you.

Is there really anyone, anywhere in Warcraft that can beat Sylvanas? That is one cruel chick, and I don't foresee anyone posing her a challenge.
Omegan01 Jan 9th 2012 5:37PM
Godfrey.
Helston Jan 9th 2012 7:11PM
The problem is, this time she's already dead-er than in Silverpine Forest.
clundgren Jan 9th 2012 7:57PM
Yeah, he isn't pulling that one again. Sylvanas is so gunning to make an example of him.
Matheus314 Jan 10th 2012 8:01AM
Oh, I'm so looking forward to a Sylvanas x Godfrey match.
Almost as much as Jaina x Azshara.
shatnerstorm2 Jan 9th 2012 5:34PM
Am the only one thinking that every single one of the echoes is gonna wipe the floor with the competition in the first four weeks?
shatnerstorm2 Jan 9th 2012 5:34PM
*Am I the only one thinking. Grrrr @ comment system.
Necromann Jan 9th 2012 5:36PM
The dark lady will defeat all, even in a time-twisted state.

"Week 7: Mannoroth vs. Asira Dawslayer"
...You can't be serious...
paul.morales91 Jan 9th 2012 5:48PM
Also, couple questions. 1. Does Murozond's opponent get the hourglass? 2. Will they acutally be fighting Azshara or just her mage adds?
monotype Jan 9th 2012 5:46PM
Okay, so is Azshara _actually_ going to fight, or is she going to sic her mook squad on her competition? And does Mannoroth come complete with the magistrike blade already embedded? Because otherwise, uh, how could either of them realistically lose to anybody else?
(Yeah, yeah, I know, it's gonna be crazy ol'Sylvanas sweeping the competition, because fanboys speak with one loud, clear voice, but...lore nerd rage.)
paul.morales91 Jan 9th 2012 5:50PM
For the record, Mannorth would literally crush Sylvanas, and Murozond...well, he's a freaking aspect for Pete's sake
Naryn Jan 9th 2012 6:02PM
I don't know if Azshara is actually fighting she may give Sylvanas a run but I do think the echo's were the wrong bosses to use.
People tend to prefer faction leaders, especially crowd favourites like Sylvanas, this may turn into Vanessa VanCleef all over again
Steffan Jan 9th 2012 6:19PM
Question: Do Baine and Asira get access to Illidan when fighting Peroth'arn and Mannoroth, respectively (and I suppose Peroth'arn's and Mannoroth's future combatants)?
Matheus314 Jan 10th 2012 8:05AM
I'm foreseeing Illidan as a wildcard here on this fights...
Shirubia Jan 9th 2012 6:31PM
Ok, you say ''reigning champion''... I am the only one who remembers Ozruk completly destorying the arena in the first season?
My predictions: Godfrey, Mannoroth, Echo of Jaina, Echo of Sylvannas, General Zon'ozz, Peroth'arn and Murozond (With or Without hourglass, guy will wipe Benedictus)... And here I have one question:
Azshara fights by herself or with her servants? Because if she's fighthing by herself, please let's remember she must be the most powerful mage of all times (Enough to scare the hell out of Mannoroth, who only feared Sargeras and Archimonde), also, Hagara comes with her crystals included? If Azshara fights by herself, she just obliverates Hagara, if her magi fight, they fight like a raid.
GhostWhoWalks Jan 9th 2012 6:52PM
Yeah, seriously...Ozruk wiped the floors with Godfrey in Season 1, he was left out of Season 2 because he'd already won...and now Godfrey's "the champion"? Total bullshit.
Get rid of Godfrey and give us our REAL champion.
