Something to keep in mind is that they already did try keeping defensive stats as a cap-able stat, like hit. Time for a history lesson in the Wayback Machine...In BC and Vanilla, Defense Rating is what kept you from being hit by crushing blows (4x normal damage), by getting you enough CTC to be over 102.4%; now it's known as the "unhittable" threshold since crushing blows were removed to avoid spikiness (and subsequently replaced by large magic attacks).As a paladin tank who is at that threshold, I have to agree that it's unfair to other tanks. Even warriors can't achieve it easily. Scaling down/removing the ability to reach such thresholds for ALL tanks would be almost a prerequisite for an active tanking model to succeed and trump the number-crunching game.
