Breakfast Topic: Thank everything for transmogrification

Now, thanks to transmog, I always look how I want. I cycle between three or so sets on this guy (tier 2, BC-era PvP gear, and tier 10) and am perfectly happy with them. Others use transmog more proactively than I do to create a specific look. I just use it so I have a unified look. I absolutely love my complete BWL set look; it makes me so happy. If you know me as Ol' Grumpy, writer of bitter, trenchant cynicism and curmudgeonly scowls, you may not be aware that I can feel happiness. I was surprised too!
So how about you? Are you making use of transmog? Do you use it to design unique looks, or are you like me, just happy to finally not have to wear mismatched pieces of gear?

Hell Yeah, thanks to transmogging my druid can wear slippers :D

My main (a belf hunter by this name) I spent hours designing a perfect look for. She needed to be as Tauren looking as possible.
My mage has a unified look I enjoy, and the rest I haven't bothered yet. They're all still very much gearing.

Okay, and just because I like to show it off, my mains look:

I've seen other hunters sporting the two pieces of recolored Giantstalker, to be sure, but everything else is so random that nobody else has one just like mine :).

I've got a transmog set that matches the class (and sometimes specific race) for 9/10 characters now, 2 sets on some and even 4 with a wide variety of weapons & shields on my main.
I love that my characters now actually look like their class!

The first thing I did was give my druid antlers (Much to the dismay of my boyfriend).
But through the past two DMF, I've gotten the Elemental mail set for my shaman (with help from heirlooms) and the Feralheart set for my druid.

Our rogue gave herself antlers.
Much to the joy and merriment of all around her. :P
Seriously. Gnome rogue+antlers=adorable.

We also call it the "Canada set".

So far I've used three sets on my male tauren druid:
Dungeon Set Recolor pieces from various BC dungeons (http://www.wowhead.com/transmog-set=376) - for when I want to look iconically druidish. I'm sorta happy that the Darkmoon Replica gear is going to take so long to collect, I was afraid I'd look like every other druid out there if they were easy to get.
Darkbrand set (http://www.wowhead.com/transmog-set=200) - for when I want to look like I just hit level 83. My initial strategy was to use it for pvp, thinking that my plain look would lead people into ignoring me in favor of people who have giant erupting volcanoes or splashing fountains for shoulders. No luck apparently, the Healers Have To Die mod doesn't care what I look like. Transforming into a 20' tall Captain Afro and visibly channeling Tranquility doesn't help me stay inconspicuous either.
A really skimpy set (based around www.wowhead.com/transmog-set=111) - for when I want to really show off my cowhide. *whistle*
I have my old tier 11 too (http://www.wowhead.com/itemset=928), which I love the look of, but I don't want to run around in it for fear that people might think I'm actually wearing old tier 11, which some people still are. I'll probably cycle it into my mogging after MoP.
Related question for active moggers who are also active pet/mount collectors: Do you try to coordinate a good-looking mount and vanity pet to compliment your mog set? I had the Cenarion Hipporgryph for the longest time to match my dungeon set recolor listed above.

I wear my paladin's transmog loudly and proudly.

If you notice, the helm is DK T11 and the rest is Paladin T11.

Ugh, why do all the cool sets with feathers have to be leather? That is no help at all to my Hunter or Shaman. On a side note, those are wicked awesome sets.
Priestess Jan 15th 2012 4:09PM
@Luotian
I know right! I wanted feathers too, but I'm a priest. However, I found some weird gear I'd never seen on a BC-era vendor - completely druid-ish (yes feathers!) but cloth with no class restriction. I haven't investigated it enough to find out how I get it (I was still busy making my current set), but I encourage you to keep looking. You never know when Blizzard will surprise you with buried treasures - even feathery ones!

Haha I do! I'm basing my two 85's Transmog gear based on their favorite pets! For my Mage I got the Phoenix Hatching, and she's a Fire mage, so her set is anything Red/gold Firey or Blood-elf looking - Hope to get the Sunwell cloth stuff eventually. My Pally has a Dark Whelpling, so despite being predominantly Holy spec - he has dark-dragon-esque plate Twilight Dungeon sets have been a big help to both of them!

My main is a shaman 'mogged using a recolor of the Five Thunders set. But I think I'm happier with the mog on my newly-rolled DK, who is currently leveling in the Outlands, home to that ungodly mismatched "clown armor" look. I have her using the armor set you get when you leave the starting area as the template, so she's going to have a very unified (and very static) look all the way to level cap.

I'm really happy about the fact that we can now make our gear sets match and adjust them to our preferences and tastes. On some of my characters I just rock the tier sets with weapons that go along with said sets, others I shoot for more of a vibe. Currently my shaman is sporting some sort of earthen death-goat necromancer look (no idea why, it just sort of happened and I think it looks pretty slick), which is a mix of the current Dragon Soul gear and tier 8.
I really love the options and choice that transmog brings. Now if we were to get dyes and the ability to transmog into different weapons (I have many fist weapons that I fear will continue to go unused), I'd be an extremely happy camper. Until that day comes though, I'm rather pleased with out this feature has worked out.
Thayer Jan 15th 2012 8:47AM
My DK is wearing the purple judgement recolor (yeah I know, me and half the plate-wearing world). I love that my character can look like an undead paladin.
eirinefrostblade Jan 15th 2012 8:46AM
My death knight finally looks like one in the Acherus set, instead of a warrior with brightly-glowing eyes. :P
My belf warrior has some awesome BC-era greens that look very attractive... And she's wielding Gorehowl. Because I can.
Woodstock Jan 15th 2012 8:47AM
I've finally got my Orc Shaman in Blue Dragonscale / BRD Gladiator set for a unique, human-esque 'broom on his head' style. My Goblin Priest is kitted out in Tier 5. My Tauren Paladin's Ret set is Tier 4 with the Hammer of the Nauru to pretty much look like the Spacegoat in the Burning Crusade cinematic; His main prot set is Tier 2, like most others I assume.
sharpy010 Jan 15th 2012 9:00AM
i couldnt care less how my toons look, main or alts so i dont transmog gear.
I can see lots of people enjoy transmog but for me its something ive no need to use.
komradejack Jan 15th 2012 9:28AM
Because you have no joy in your heart.
eel5pe Jan 15th 2012 11:27AM
sharpy I'm with you. I originally thought that I'd be all over this feature, but sadly I DEd a lot of my old gear long ago to make room in my bank and don't have time to go back and reacquire everything. It doesn't help that the PvP Paladin set this tier actually looks dynamite so I haven't even needed to touch transmogging. =)
