Everyone has their own preference, but I for one am glad to not feel like I have to run separate 10 and 25 mans of the same run each week (plus heroic and normal modes of each once you reach that point) in order to continue justifying a spot in the progression raid. There were months where my guild would be running TOC & ICC, all four modes, and it would just drive you slowly insane. So why do it? No one's holding a gun to your head, right? Because you didn't want to look like you weren't taking the guild's goals seriously. That you didn't care about progression because you only wanted to run twice a week vs. four times a week. Because even if you only wanted to do 10s with your closer friends, the better ilvl gear was in the 25s. It was almost like you had to do the same run four times a week for various reasons. It was practically a part-time job. Our guild went defunct at the end of Wrath from sheer burnout.
