Anyone got some simple macros I can stick on my taskbar that will help with marking targets?
Would be really helpful :-)

You can use addons like TargetCharms (http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/target-charms) or LuckyCharms (http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/luckycharms2).

You can also bind target markers directly in the keybinds menu. I only have Skull bound myself since it sometimes needs to be applied quickly without planning, but I know tanks who have 3-4 bound.

I use Lucky Charms when I'm tanking... but honestly, keybinds are probably best. I have F9-F12 keybound... the problem is I can never remember the order I have them bound. I should probably make a little sticker to put over those so I can glance down and see which is which :)

I have markers keybound to my numpad 1-9. That ability should be built into the client itself. I don't bother with a clear marker button; I just hit the same marker twice and that clears it. With an addon, I also bound the raid markers to shift+numpad.
You can probably write a single elaborate macro to cycle through the markers on a target, but I prefer the numpad binds.
