Is this a Game Master in the Armory?

The GM is named Melesong. She's a level 84 blood elf warrior on the Illidan realm. She's got only one achievement, reaching level 10 on Dec. 27, 2011. Her armor is sparse. She's wearing: She has no professions, no weapons, no PvP kills, and so on, but she's looking pretty in blue, plain as day for everyone to see.
This could be some odd glitch, or something else might be going on that we don't know about (perhaps a Martin Fury incident again, where some player mistakenly got sent something). However, that's all quite unlikely; this looks like a GM logged into the game world without their game master flag long enough to be picked up by the Armory, and we can all now take a peek and gawk at this for a bit before it's taken down.

How interesting. I am looking forward to a cosplayer dressing up as a GM at next years Blizzcon. Now that we know what they look like.
Thanks for the share.

No offence but the GM robes have never been a secret, Blizzard have posted offical screenshots of them themselves in fact, in an article about GMs, and various players have taken screenshots of GMs over the years.

Geez, they were just asking a question. No reason to down vote them to BRD.

I think my main had a visit from a GM in game once. I was in Icecrown at lvl 79, trying to kill one of those 79e's (beginning quests in Icecrown.) in resto spec. I wasn't able to dps down fast, there was no enrage, but I could heal up enough to stay alive.
I kept seeing horde people come in, but they didn't want to help, and would just leave.
About 30 min into this, I had the mob at like 50%, finally this random player appeared. Their name was in yellow, I didn't catch the name tho.... They talked to me like they were a person, and asked if I would like some assistance.
I was like, sure!
We got the mob down in no time, and they said 'Just let me know if you need help again'...but they disappeared into thin air.
I haven't seen anyone like this since.

I dunno, therefore Aliens.

So as her companion and mounts tab has no core hound pup... Even GMs are too lazy to get an authenticator?
djsuursoo Jan 16th 2012 6:37PM
think of it this way: when you're only a few hundred feet from the server in a secured area on a private network that is only hooked up to the game server, would you even NEED an authenticator?

I always thought GM's would wear something a little . . . cooler.
Salculd Jan 16th 2012 6:27PM
How so? Is there something wrong with the shape, or perhaps the color?
Eccentor Jan 16th 2012 7:05PM
That's why they're GMs; they don't *need* all the armor and crap we mere mortals do.
You never saw Yoda or Dungeon Master in crazy armor or wild glowing weaponry. They were badass without such crude matter.
(pretend for a moment the prequels never happened)
Terrant Jan 16th 2012 9:18PM
@Salculd
The shape's fine, just the whole thing should be... y'know, cooler. It needs to be about 20% cooler.

I so wish I could forget those blasted abominations.... It's unfortunate that it's the only time you see Yoda fight though. I had been telling people for years that Yoda was badass...er...I guess some good came out of those terribad movies afterall.
Back on topic: Am I the only one that thinks that hood looks similar to a Hajib?

Unfortunately, come February something, it's gonna be even more difficult to forget those movies, as Phantom Menace is being re-released in theatres in 3D. Shoot me now please.

Interesting fun fact:
Mele is the Hawaiian word for song, therefore.....Melesong = yeaaaaaaaaaaa

Back in TBC I was with my current main, my shaman, in a Steamvaults heroic group. I had made a ticket about some issue I can't quite recall now and I was talking with the GM as the run went on. Then out of nowhere, while our healer was gaining mana before a boss, a night elf, wearing these clothes appeared, floating. He started saying how he was here to help me with an issue. Of course, our group was excited and I thought "Cool! This will make some kickass screenshots". And then, if things couldn't get more awesome, the GM says "Don't speak loudly but I think I may have been followed here". Suddenly, out of nowhere, infernals started raining from above our heads but when they hitted the ground, no infernal came. The mob that the animation spawned were some El Pollo Grande! The GM shouts "We are under attack!" and starts attacking the chickens. Of course, they were only level 50 so we dealt with them pretty quickly. I couldn't believe what had happened! Afterwards, the GM thanked us for helping him and wished best of luck on the rest of Steamvaults. Truly an epic encounter with a GM :)

When I ran my own guild, there was a standing offer:
Any guild member who could convince a GM to let *me* see them (I was willing to go to whatever outrageously isolated spot they wanted) would get every single item and coin in the guild bank.
Many tried. All failed.
I guess this will suffice. For now ^_^

So one of my friends told me a story once about his encounter with a GM a number of years back: He was naming his toon a certain not so offensive name (spelling was fine) that could be pronounced in a way that was against naming guidelines. He would log in to a naming prompt, and just kept the same name, or would spell it a little differently each time. After a few of these he was running around in Icecrown when a huge blue dragon approached him. The dragon had a GM tag and name color and personally confronted him about his naming habits, I think threatening a ban too. My friend apologised and did what he was told, but took screenshots of the whole experience. I believe my friend is telling the truth, but he's since changed computers a number of times and I never saw the screens. So objectively I have to say pics or it didn't happen, but I was wondering if anyone knows if that's something GMs have been known to do or if anyone has a similar story. Today I would guess they aren't so cordial anymore and just drop a suspension or two instead of taking dragon form.
I myself have never seen a GM in game, I assume they just hang out on their secret island answering tickets and if they actually play the game it's on a private server with other blizzard staff. They are elusive and mysterious, and I'm surprised this armory grab is even in focus.

the CM's on the forums said they have their own private accounts and they play on live servers in guilds with a mix of coworkers and regular people. They're just careful not to let anyone know that they're blizzard employees. If anyone asks where they work they make something up.
