Something that should be noted for this is Repair Costs. To have any kind of success in game everyone needs to keep their gear in good shape. Could this be considered as a tax of sorts?

Except repair costs arent set by players, and therefore are unaffected by inflation.

Inflation affects the value of gold, therefore it affects the value of repairs. As repair costs are pretty much fixed it would seem that it gets relatively cheaper to do the as the gold market inflates. As everyone pays for this service there is some merit in keeping tabs on the relative value of it.

Even though the rate of change of repair costs is determined by Blizzard and not the "free market," I'd still like to track it. The problem is ... how do I track it? Maybe see how much it costs for a full repair after 1 death in current raid-level gear?
