Totem Talk: How much do resto shaman set bonuses and mastery matter?

Mr Robot has reforged my shaman to 1236 haste. I've recently started doing whatever that website tells me for her as I am not that familiar with resto shamans. She has a 384 ilvl and 1609 mastery. Am I being led astray?

Haste is a throughput stat, but mastery, as stated above, is more so in Dragon Soul. That being said you are a 300ish above the haste breakpoint for riptide-meaning you get an extra tick out of it- and its probably best to aim for the 916 mark. However, if you really like haste you can try and reach the much higher 2000ish breakpoint, I dont know it because Ive never tried for it, which is pretty potent, but maybe not as good as mastery in these high, unavoidable damaging encounters of Dragon Soul.
