6 AM EST (3AM PST) and all servers are up with an announcement for rolling restarts on US realms starting at 5 PST. Blizzard better not have extended downtime on my birthday >.
Arrohon Jan 17th 2012 6:12AM
I'm too tired to be doing this...
>.
Noyou Jan 17th 2012 8:45AM
Just logged in at 7:44 central. There was no message of maintenance or rolling restarts on the login screen.
Shinae Jan 17th 2012 10:44AM
Happy Birthday! Enjoy your WoW time!

Thanks! Too bad I have to perform at a basketball game instead of doing LFR.

The linked-to post has been deleted, new post http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3881884586 is rolling restarts.
They never went down for me, and I've been on since 6:30pm EST Monday night.
... I just realized what I said, that I've been playing WoW for nearly 12 hours. I need a life. >.>
dmberreth Jan 17th 2012 6:32AM
If you are a realatively healthy person, either involved in school and work and choose to burn your weekend with WoW (like myself) then your life is fine.
If, however, you are choosing WoW over things like eating, sleeping, seeing people, making money or finishing your education on a regular or daily basis? Maybe need to have that looked into.
Your info is correct though. My friend and I were all "OH NOES DOWNTIME!" when I realized it was all ready 3:30AM PST, and that the original downtime post was removed.
Mycroft Jan 17th 2012 6:36AM
Heh, yeah, I third shift job, raid from 7pm-10pm and then normally scoot off to work. Today was my day off though, so I woke up in time for the raid as usual, but stuck around afterwards. I haven't been active in the game the whole time, probably at least 4 hours of it (cumulative) was being totally AFK.
I'd like to see people, but I have few friends that are awake at 2am to hang out with. :(

This was meant as a reply to dmberreth above, who replied to my comment.
Hey WoW Insider, if there's any way you could sneak a status update on the "new comment system" I've been eagerly awaiting in the news within the next week, it'd be appreciated. I could've sworn I heard Soon(tm) back in Wrath.
dmberreth Jan 17th 2012 6:44AM
I'm always around that time of night on my days off. Graveyard shift. I've been in WoW since about 6pm myself. But that's a lot of tabbing out, making dinner, watching TV, RPing, etc etc.
Most of my friends aren't on the night shift either. But Moonguard at least has people to talk to.

Do you double check the service status forum before posting your post ?
When you post a blog post here does it go immediately up or does it go in a queue ? Does it get checked by someone else ?
And are the times listed for posted listed in Pacific Time , Central Time or Eastern coast time ?
Shinae Jan 17th 2012 10:43AM
Times listed here and on Blizzard notices are always Pacific because that's where Blizzard is based.
It sounds like said notices have changed their information since the initial announcement, so I think you should cut WoW Insider some slack, jack.
Noyou Jan 17th 2012 11:11AM
I agree with cutting them some slack but lets edit the post and not look like everyone over there is sleeping.

It's hard to express tone in the written word.
I guess I should of added this to my post : My questions are more in the spirit of understanding why wow insider got it wrong and what can be done in the future to improve their accuracy.
Again the service status post was updated before wow insider made their post.
