WoW Moviewatch: WoW Hardware Store
The WoW Hardware Store has been around for a long, long time. It was released in 2006, six years ago. That means children who were born when this video was released are now in the first grade. The animation in the video was definitely sophisticated for the time, but I actually consider them sophisticated even now. That's because the animation, visual effects, models, and graphics all work together very well; the visual effect is pleasing and driven by the movie. The video has aged well.
I guess someone could remake this video now, using all the new widgets and models put into the game to support the goblins. But I'm not sure it'd actually be any better -- just new.

I remember when this video came out. It's been one of my favorites every since. The combination of Weird Al and Cairne dancing is just great.

I've seen this a million times, and I just noticed it says "Gadgetstan" instead of "Gadgetzan"
Fantastic Machinima.

LOL, I remember when this came out. Good times.
And kids born when it came out would be in kindergarten right now - the cut off for first grade was Septemberish, 2005 in most areas. They will start first grade in the fall, though. (My first graders were born a week and a half before the honor system patch was put in. ;) )

Gah, fricking comment system! I did not mean to comment three separate times. Please downvote the others into oblivion. >.

This vid is mandatory play before heading to Home Depot.
We go to Home Depot a lot...

One day, my friend was wandering Home Depot, trying to find the right aisle for the item he wanted to purchase. Just as he's about to give up, "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" comes on the in-store radio.

I can't be the only person who tried to sing the list of things the hardware store had.
I still can't get it right, lol.

Sadly, I can.

Here, maybe this will help you practice:

(Also, that's amazingly hilarious if you've played Monkey Island. I always knew Stan sounded like Weird Al.)

For some reason, Weird Al as a troll just... fits.
StClair Jan 17th 2012 2:21PM
I actually saw this before I started playing. I wasn't even sure if the main character was a troll or a goblin.

I'd only wish for a remake of this so I can read all the items they show when he's going through the list of things in the store.

The best item is the Automatic Circumcisor. I can't say I've ever found that in my local hardware store...

It's not as though tech was ever bad, those few years back.
With all the advances since then, though, it still compares very well.
Thanks for the share.

The best part is still when they spam a chat channel with "HARDWARE STOOOOOOOORE" and it's broken up by someone saying "stfu!". Good times.
