Just asking WoW Insider members, my guild was able to defeat Dragon Soul on normal pretty quickly compared to how long it took for us to beat Firelands or BWD (we killed DW for the first time last week, one month or so after release). How does everyone else feel about the current difficulty? My guild blazed through the first four bosses, and beat the last 4 at a steady pace, and I feel as if the fights are not all that challenging, especially if this content's supposed to last another three months minimum. However, I'm not sure if it's because my guild was toughened up after Ragnaros, or if the content itself was less challenging. What's the rest of you feeling about DS's current difficulty?(I do hope, though, that this means that Blizzard's planning Mists to release sooner rather than later. But I'm not holding my breath until I have the box in my hands.)

We toughened up Suna ;)

DS is definitely easier than Firelands. My guild cleared 8/8 the first week while T11 took us months and Firelands took almost a month to down Ragz on normal.

Yeah, our guild blazed through DS without too much trouble either. We had more problems with the holiday boss than the actual bosses. I wasn't with them for FL and tier 11, but I got the impression it took them considerably longer than a couple of weeks. Now that we are on heroics though, things are ramping up. Lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth.

DS was definitely a LOT easier.1) Nothing to interrupt2) No instant-death player mechanics outside of Heroic Will and Shockwave3) Lots of "stack up and AoE heal really hard" phases

The thing that helped me progress in DS the most was having practice mode in RaidFinder - I can try out my wacky ideas and spec tweaks on a live practice dummy, ideas about the best way to approach a boss percolate out through the community faster, and I learned the dance moves much earlier than I have on older content. And I got my tier 4-piece a heck of a lot faster than I might otherwise have done.I suspect that without LFR many guilds would not be nearly as progressed as they are now.

My guild killed Deathwing 3 weeks ago. I feel okay with that; there were only 7 bosses before him, after all. And if you tally up the hours we spent on him it's probably in the range of 20 or so. I'm fine with that amount, because after even that my guild has coined a term for wiping repeatedly with no progress: Deathwinging. It took us half a raid period to get H Morchock down, and we've been banging our head against H Yor'shaj for the last 3 weeks, though we have gotten him down to sub-20% several times. I'd say we've put around 15 hours on that guy (5 hours a week * 3 weeks) and some people are getting antsy with our lack of progress.I think we've gotten used to killing bosses within a few lockout periods, so when we don't do something like that, people are unhappy. All in all I'm not unhappy with DS's difficulty, and find it perfect for my range, but I can see how people would be upset with it, especially if they came from Firelands into this tier.
