The Daily Quest: Brilliant observations
WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining
WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
Whether you stick to online friends only or bring real-life friends into the game, World of Warcraft is a pretty social experience. Whether or not that social experience is particularly pleasant is another question altogether. Sometimes it ends in disaster, like the song above illustrates (and if you're looking for more from SilverLetomi, check out this interview with her from last week) -- and sometimes it ends with having friends who will stick with you through thick and thin.
That said, today we've got some particularly thought-provoking posts from around the blogosphere for you.

- Cynwise's Field Notes has an absolutely astonishing, brilliant post about the social aspects of Warcraft and what that could lead to in the future.
- Boozekin shares some really insightful thoughts about exactly what the Raid Finder is for.
- Big Bear Butt makes a stunning series of realizations while leveling enchanting on yet another alt.

While I won't deny that the crafting/disenchanting/reenchanting (is that even a word?) cycle is more profitable, I just wanted to add that the jasper and alicite green boes also sell pretty decently on their own, and at a steady clip. They're level 79 gear, so they're pretty useful for alts who just want to be able to hop into dungeons as quickly as possible. Dream emeralds are the only truly useless gem -- you can't make anything with them, you can't turn them into enchanting mats, you can't cut anything worthwhile with them, you can't give them away. Now, if I actually had a chanter to blow stuff up with, I might be more reluctant to pitch my greens onto the AH, but as it stands...

I've used Sensei's Dream Emerald a few times, but I think that's the only one of the bunch that I've touched.

Dream emeralds are great for cheap tanking gems: Puissant for mastery/stamina, Regal for dodge/stamina.

I've tried moving those, but they don't seem to sell very well, and when they do, it's usually for something like 10g/gem. :(

They're very slow movers on my server, but occasionally you can get upwards of 30-40g for them.
I usually keep less than one stack on my bank toon, and sell them when I see the price creep up into that range.
It would be really nice of Blizz would give SOME sort of options (besides cutting and vendoring) for some of the rare and uncommon gems that are basically useless. Even if you could just craft then DE them, it would be a huge quality of life change for JCers.
That said - JCing has been very good to me anyway, so... I can't complain too much.

And here I thought i was the only one who thought Ultraxion sounded like an intentionally bad Nixon impression.

Is it me or does the woman singing sound like the woman from the centralnewyorkhelpwanted.com commercials on the radio?

Good to see the Saronite shuffle (the actual saronite shuffle from wrath era nodes and items) is alive and well.
