Breakfast Topic: Do you still run daily quests?

I don't know what it is about them. I certainly don't need the tokens to buy recipes, and my character hardly needs the pittance of gold that completion rewards her. But every day, I still head out on my trusty steed, picking Prickly Pears, grabbing Muddy Crawfish, and murdering thieves. It's just part of my routine, and I feel weirdly incomplete if the server resets before I can get them done.
What about you? Do you run your cooking dailies every day? Do you still make your way to Baradin Hold or Firelands to grind out a reward? Do your characters head to Dalaran or maybe even Shattrath to do their good deed of the day? Let us know.

Yes. I mostly do the Jewlecrafting daily in Stormwind and the fishing dailies in Shattrath and Dalaran, but it's not unusual for me to skip any or all of them, sometimes for two or three days in a row.

I only do them if I need gold/rep which at this point even my 3rd alt is exalted with all current factions save the raiding ones. I do check the JC one daily and if it one that does not involve gems I will do it otherwise I skip it. I bought every jc cut that matters to me and my alts, epics included and I still have 30 tokens left over. I am also hovering around the 50k gold mark (and not a huge gold hoarder) so I don't feel incentivitized to do them at this point. The only daily's I have done recently have been the Darkmoon Faire daily's and those are already feeling a bit stale to me.

The fastest gold in the game in the Dalaran Jewelcrafter's daily quest, get a dragon's eye+5 infinte dust = 200g all day every day. I have 2 JC's and run it every day.

When work is busy and I get home late, I can still make time for a fishing, cooking, and Wintersaber daily.
My piece of Azeroth that I can look forward to every day, even if I won't really have time to play.

- Dalaran and Stormwind JC dailies on my jewelcrafter (yes, his hearth is still set to Dalaran!)
- Argent Tournament dailies to get the last of my mounts. I'm finally down to my last 100 champion seals! SOON...

Lately I've been religiously doing the Netherwing dailies. But that's about it for me. I do dailies whenever I remember to.
Nyold Jan 20th 2012 10:30AM
I used to run it for gold and/or waiting for a group. Now that running LFD gives you gold, I don't run it anymore. I only run a circuit of TB while waiting on my dps, and even then most of the time I don't finish everything before the dungeon pops, at which point I just turn in the ones I completed and save the in progress quests for a later time.

I would be more inclined to do them if:
- Their lockout worked more like random Heroics (i.e., they allowed players to do a week's worth of dailies and not have to think about them the rest of the week).
- Transportation was faster. Dailies - specially those from old content like BC and WotLK - often demand more travel time than I care for.
- The grind wasn't so long to get anything nice. Long grinds are acceptable for dailies that deal with current content, but are not really feasible for old dailies.
- With a few specific dailies, if their best rewards weren't random. I flat out refuse to farm any random rewards.
The way it stands, I might do a few if I'm low on gold or if I'm passing close to where they are offered, but otherwise I don't really care.

I'll do tournament dailies, because if I do them every day, then twice a week I can sell a pet for 3K+ gold. And y noob paladin is doing molten front dailies because she needs the gear. I feel like I ought to be doing more, though, so I get green drops for disenchanting. My supply's really dried up since I stopped questing so hard.

I sometimes find time for dailies, but lately they are the space combat dailies in The Old Republic.

JC daily on my main, always. I'm a completist, trying to get every cut in the game.
Similarly, while all but one of my alts have maxed Cooking, they'll still do Dal or Cata cooking dailies if I happen to be on one and have some spare time, to fill out their recipe lists, and my BS, Eng, and LW will do Molten Front. All my alts do the Cata fishing daily in this same half-hearted fashion.
Any other dailies come up only if I suddenly decide to focus on an alt who needs rep to get some recipe.
Edymnion Jan 20th 2012 1:23PM
Hell no. I run them just long enough to grind out what I want from them (exalted status for quartermaster goods, enough tokens to get a recipe I want, etc) and then never run them again.
I hate the repetitive grind of dailies. I do them because I have no choice if I want the rewards they offer, and once I have those I never want to see them again. Only one of my toons has a blazing hippogriff, and its going to stay that way because I never want to step foot in Molten Front ever again.
pekarnya Jan 20th 2012 1:35PM
I finished all the available Cata dailies, but because I missed Argent Tournament during WoTLK now I can't have any rest before I get EVERY, SINGLE, MOUNT. Don't know why I can't just forget about them though.
Aaron Jan 20th 2012 2:14PM
I still do dailies, but probably not the ones you're thinking of. Now that I have all of my Cataclysmic reputations maxed (except Avengers), I do most of my dailies in Icecrown. I did the Molten Front for a while, but eventually I realized that I don't want anything from the vendors, so that's on the "whenever" list. I'm currently working the Argent Tournament for pets, mounts, and heirlooms (I was gone from 3.0.8 to 4.2.0), and filling in the rest with Grizzly Hills and Skybreaker dailies.
I wouldn't call daily quest money a pittance. A round in Tol Barad (both parts, 12-13 quests) earns me about 200g in forty minutes from quest rewards, cash drops, and vendor junk. However, I also get 3-4 stacks of Embersilk Cloth, enough to make a bag, so let's say 500g. That's far from ideal, but it's an additional stream of dependable low-risk income, I get some of the money now rather than waiting for my stuff to sell, and many dailies offer some additional benefit, like guild EXP or a chance at a pet. Icecrown dailies pay a bit less, but they're trivial at level 85.
Similar to what Wollsmoth said, dailies are also much easier than a dungeon run, and easier to abandon if something more interesting comes along. Dailies give me an opportunity to kick back, listen to some tunes, and socialize with the guild.
Zato Jan 20th 2012 2:41PM
I do not run dailies - strictly because we are limited to 2 specs, and I have 2 resto specs (PvE / PVP). Grinding dailies as resto spec is beyond painful. And I'm not going to re-spec every day just to do them.
I REALLY wish they would allow us to maintain a separate PVP spec in addition to 2 other specs. Especially for hybrid classes.
Grayswindir Jan 20th 2012 2:43PM
Nope...I have want I want...just not the BH nice mounts. Those...are just too much trouble to get, I would rather try for the Raven Lord's Mount....I am on 116 tries (more so if you count the number of tries I did in BC, but the Statistic tracker wasnt in place there...so ya...)
Xantenise Jan 20th 2012 2:53PM
I miss the Argent Tournament dailies. I haven't done many since Cata hit. Miss you, Icecrown!
evoxpisces Jan 20th 2012 10:42PM
Only when I'm bored, really. If I've got nothing better to do or just not in the mood to do some real questing, then sure why not?
Abraxxis Jan 21st 2012 12:14AM
1) I run dailies on my main when I am waiting for DF/LFR and a) tired of archaeology, b) tired of farming rares/camels, c) tired of fishing.
2) I run dailies on alts, as the MF dailies have good off-set pieces to advance into HoT dungeons faster.
lado.chapodze Jan 21st 2012 6:23AM
Yes, I do dailies, but not all
i use only 1 main character, and 1 alt rogue at mid 70th, for farming junkboxes
I do 7-8 daily quests everyday for Argent Tournament (10X token per day=1 companion for every 4 day) and sell companions on AH
I also do cooking daily ques. lazy to fish stuff for my Feasts
and as I have transferred for another realm, I am doing other dailies for Guild reputation cap
they are so booooring
I have absolutely everthing from daily quests. so no use to do them over again
can't get how can ppl do same dailies on several alts
sometimes i do Tol Barad dailies, for shoulder/head enchant. instead of buying them with HPs
