feel like an outsider NOT being bored with shield tanking. 'stylistically' when i think about the job of a tank wielding a shield, i imagine his/her shield being the foundation of his craft or the difference maker; therefore, i think block as a mechanic ought to be a priority for shield tanks. i am not disappointed with shield tank mastery in cataclysm overall, but your point of it being wrong for holy paladin mastery to have a 'cap' is valid. sure there are some classes who dont favor mastery over other secondary stats, but for ours to simply become useless at some easily attainable point (esp with trinkets and abilities) seems to be a bit of an oversight. i would not favor a redesign of shield tanking/block/mastery as a whole but i do think the cap needs to be considered. maybe our mastery talent ought to convert any excess mastery beyond the 102.4 threshold into more avoidance or threat stats automatically/seamlessly. no need to tediously reforge away mastery mumbling and grumbling. just some thoughts.
