What about using Cunning for trash ( for AoE) and Insignia for bosses? I have been swapping them out, but would love to hear if that's a good idea...

I think it's also better on some bosses anyway (Yor'Shaj, and Spine if you're doing it on Normal and feel like cheesing DPS meters by spreading combustion onto all the oozes) but I couldn't say for sure.

The AoE trink will be better on bosses with adds, most specifically Yor'sahj, but it might be better on others too. On trash, it probably doesn't even matter what trinket you have on
