I've never won the Kalu'ak Fishing Derby, but I did once win the Booty Bay Fishing Extravaganza.I set a timer on this past Easter Sunday to remind myself that it was happening. Since it was Easter the online server population was quite low and the competition was minimal. I set my hearth for the Booty Bay inn and ran up and down the Eastern coast of Lower STV.And that's how I won.

That's pretty much how I won the Booty Bay Fishing Extravaganza a few years back as well. Easter Sunday was a prime time to try for that contest. I only saw 3 or 4 level 80s on the eastern side of the peninsula and a small handful of twinks. Luck was with me and now I'm Salty!

Yup, won mine on Xmas day a few years back on a Sunday, no problem at all. A friend of mine won hers this past year on Xmas Sunday as well. Big holidays are a good time to try to win these things.

I had it even easier...I won it on the 1st day the contest started (and again on the 3rd, trading wins with a Horde fisherman for the first month). The time it took me to win was quite a bit longer than what it takes these days, with all the competition, so it was certainly not as difficult a task as it is now. But for that one week, I was the proud owner of the only Hook of the Master Angler (http://www.wowhead.com/item=19979) on the whole server!
