Breakfast Topic: What are your goals for the Lunar Festival?

If you're interested in participating, there's a lot to do during the Lunar Festival. You can set off a bunch of fireworks (don't blow your fingers off), grind out a lot of easy experience by visiting elders, and the perennial WoW holiday favorite activity, killing stuff. What are your goals this Lunar Festival holiday? Are you going to be making the rounds to try and finish off your What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been achievement? Try to level some alts with the aid of that sweet, free experience? Or are you going to just sleep your way through the holiday because "been there, done that"?

My characters are putting on their pretty lunar festival dresses and going to honor the Elders of the Cataclysm, which is the only thing they didn't do last year.
The amount of screenshots I have of my Tauren bowing in front of the also-bowing NPS wearing an identical dress...! It's just too pretty :-)

I've already done the achivements (minus the elders of Cataclysm) earlier years, so I'm just in for the pet. Now, if ONLY I had saved some of the old coins, I'd have less pointless travel to do :(
BIG plus to Blizzard, though, is that the elders now give the coin and the red envelope together, rather than send that stupid mail :P

This holiday I'll finally fly around to all the elders on my three alts that have been needing it for years now. Cata launch past year post poned the flying around for me as I was to busy with the main.

This year, I need to get my paladin the meta achievement for his violet proto (toon 2 with it); he's almost finished with the overall meta, just this, Valentines and Noblegarden and he'll have free 310 flight speed and mount. Maybe work on it with my druid, but since I'm not too worried about him getting it, it'll probably go to the wayside.

Ohhh...there's pets too aren't there; then add to that get my rogue the pet as well; pretty sure I still have coins from last year, so it shouldn't take too long.

Getting my alt the Elder title and free xp to help with my 80-85 grind. My main will want the Cataclysm Elders and the pets.

The Lunar Festival is for me an excellent opportunity to finally have a viable cause flying around the world in search for long lost fragments of bygone days. Archaeology, that is. So, while hunting down the ghosts of past I also try to hunt down the shards of history ... and eventually succumb to the greedy capitalist inside my mage and find a Vial of the Sands.
45 K on the AH is simply irresistible.
Also, a title is a nice perc :)

Lunar Festival was always that holiday I would never do on alts. I'd do it once on my main, and then ignore the event, however I know I would end up beating myself up over it later, because some alt at some point later is going to wish he had done it (ie: "oh crap, I'd have all the achievements if I had just done the Lunar Festival"). I tend to blame it on the event coming right after a string of many better events--Brewfest, Hallow's End, Pilgrim's Bounty, Winter's Veil... because everything tends to be focused around that "post summer to new year" time, by the time it's past new year, I'll feel like a break... and then be ready for when Valentine's Day his around in-game. I'm kind of worried if it will be impacted this year as a result of my goals. I think it'll be interesting.
This year I'm going to strive to get it on everyone before the event ends. I'm going to honor literally every elder, everywhere, on all three of my level-capped toons (druid, warrior, and DK respectively). This won't be really a test of time (you can do each toon in in no time at all nowadays, what with flying) but more a test of patience. All of that traveling will be soul-crushing, and I know it.
All I can say is: This year, I'll be ready. So bring it on.

Got Elune's blessing this morning, so I'll definitely finish Elders of Cataclysm for the meta and title. Also, the pets (at least the lantern) are not BoP, so there may be some gold to be made off the coins that have been sitting in my bank!

My new main just needs the Lunar Festival and Love is in the Air to get her purple proto-drake, so that's what I'll be doing on her - finishing up all the Lunar Festival achievements.

Check all my toons and not make the same mistake I made last year. Had I done Lunar fest on my hunter he would have his Violet Proto now. So that's my first goal. Get the pet on my pet collecting toon. Maybe defend some of the cities from the hordies who don't realize, you don't need to attack any guards to get this achieve. (If you have a toon with a pet, make sure to put him on passive prior to landing-not sure you even have to land)

Just an FYI - they changed a few things this year. You don't need to do Exodar or SMC for achievement. They changed the envelopes- you get them handed to you now. No more spammed emails!

horde may not need to, but alliance do. the orgrimmar elder is right next to the org FP, in the middle of the city. Also, the Razor Hill and Crossroads elders are well within aggro range of guards and flightmasters.

My plan this year is to see if I can solo Omen on my hunter. I think I could've last year but I forgot if I actually did.
