The Queue: Do it live
Warpaint is a band you just have to see live. This is a fantastic live version of Burgundy followed by Undertow.
Zaet asked:
Do u think there will ever be another Warcraft RTS?
Put plainly, I'd be incredibly surprised if we saw another entry into the main Warcraft series while WoW was running. Placing Warcraft 4 right after WoW gives Blizzard very little wiggle room when it comes to the MMO's story, but placing it long after WoW sort of invalidates the MMO's story progress altogether. Essentially: "Here's what's going to happen regardless of how WoW's story plays out."
Of course, I'd love to play as an older Arator the Redeemer or even a King Anduin Wrynn, mind you.
yous95 asked:
What is the biggest creature in all of WoW history? I'm guessing Sargeras, but I'm not sure.
On terrestrial Azeroth, I'm fairly certain the largest natural creature (the largest we can identify, anyway) is Galakrond, the big daddy of all dragons. You can see his bones in Dragonblight. There are the bones of another "larger" creature off the coast of Kalimdor, but Galakrond was supposed to be the biggest, so I blame abstractions of size for that.
On Outland, that honor goes to Supremus, at least where in-game size is concerned. He is absolutely massive.
Kaia asked:
why is it that the worgen NPCs say 'May the light of the New Moon guide you' when a New Moon is completely dark and doesn't reflect any light? Am I missing something or what?
It's pretty clearly a mistake. This happens sometimes; see Mat's answer to the "sulfur and brimstone" question yesterday.
pldrx12 asked:
In MoP we will have to chosse a "tier" of talents each 15 levels. That makes 6 for 90 levels. But what will happen with future expansions that "probably" will contain less than 15 levels? They will have no new "tier" or will it imply to somehow rebuild the talent system ? (Hopefully they will containt 15 levels :D)
Every iteration of the talent system has problems, but this one can be fixed simply by changing the levels at which you get new talent points. Don't count on the expansion after MoP taking you to level 105.
JA asked:
Sometimes while queued up for LFR I tab out while I wait... I have missed my queue pop, but it dropped me in the raid anyways without me accepting. Why would it still drop me in the raid without accepting?
You're automatically added to a Raid Finder group unless you explicitly decline it via the prompt. I imagine it's to expedite group formation.

Q4TQ what pet families are the wow insider staff hoping for?
Tfish92 Jan 22nd 2012 12:46PM
But an astrologist would still be able to tell you about the cycles of the moon.
There's no mistake here.
quelaenvyn Jan 22nd 2012 12:48PM
1) See EQ and EQ2 for the knowing the future not limiting what happen in the current and 2) With a game with as much time travel as WOW there is no reason that it can't be something we already have done. But what I would like to see is a RTS release at the same time as an xpat that both cover the same thing special if it use the same 3 part release format as Starcraft 2.
It not the storyline I see that will stop any future Warcraft RTS but resources. MMO take a lot of man power to keep run and assuming that "Titian" project is half as good as WOW we know it going do well and continue so that 2 Game with never ending need of resources. When you add in Starcraft and Diablo in to the mix. It gone be a long while before they have enough man power to craft a new RTS for a franchie which have a game going as popular as WOW.

I would think even a non-astronomer would know that the new moon gives off no light.
*channels ol' grumpypants* but kids these days probably think its a reference to that gosh-darn Twilight book...
mhm Jan 22nd 2012 1:00PM
I think it has to do with context. The quote references a new moon and i think that has to do with changes in NIGHT elf society. I don't think it is a mistake.
jsbeam Jan 22nd 2012 1:01PM
Since there used to be two moons, they probably wouldn't have been new at the same time meaning there would still be light from one of them just less of it. Now that the other moon is gone, the cultural saying just never got updated probably.
Arrohon Jan 23rd 2012 1:48AM
I'm pretty sure that there's still 2 moons, but one can't be seen in-game for technical reasons.
Cerrena Jan 22nd 2012 1:16PM
Why couldn't a future RTS release be concurrent with the current WoW game. I mean, for example, while the story telling forefront of WoW in MoP will be in Pandoria, couldn't a RTS be telling the "Mean while, back in Kalimdor..." story? I know there are complaints that the novels often include lore that is left out of the game, but at least this would include the lore in another game.

Not really a WoW question, but this gamer community might help me out.
Is there a game that has a mecanic like the good old Baldurs gate/BG2/Icewind Dale/IWD2??
In the form that u have a big party, can pause the game and control every character directly.
For me those were some of the most awesome game I ever played and I miss that form of gameplay. I still play em from time to time, buy I yern for something new with the same system

You should consider checking out Dragon Age by Bioware. That fits your bill perfectly...my only advice is that you avoid it's lesser sequel (which was watered down to a button masher except at the highest difficulties but has hilarious characters).
Dragon Age at normal difficulty and above is very strategic, allowing you to pause the action and assign commands individually. You can also write fairly sophisicticated lists of contextual commands for each character that they use as the situation changes. Hell you can even do the same for your player character and put him on auto pilot.
Give it a try; you might like it.
Leethax Jan 22nd 2012 1:26PM
Hold on, doesn't azeroth have two moons?
Maybe one is really bright while the other is i new moon phase or something...
FireMaster Jan 22nd 2012 1:32PM
Do you think Blizzard will ever make a remake with better graphics of Warcraft 1~3?
Samuel Jan 22nd 2012 1:43PM
No, it'd be a waste of resources. They'd be better off making a Warcraft IV.
Al Jan 22nd 2012 4:21PM
I kinda hope not. They'd jam in the latest retcons, and it just wouldn't be the same.
Lothar: I'm going out to speak with Doomhammer. Where's my lieutenant?
Danath: Right here, sir.
Lothar: But I thought..
Danath: We've already told you, sir. Turalyon doesn't exist.
Lothar: Anyway.. wait here.
Danath: Hey look! Something non-treacherous happened, because Ogrimm's totally a good guy who operates his campaign of genocide by fair means... wait...
Kurdran: Oh, fer the love of.. just charge!
Ogrimm: Aw, you guys won! What now?
Toddler Varian: BLERAGH!! LOCK THEM IN DEATH CAMPS! I R MEAN!
Baby Jaina: Ah man, that seems harsh. I'm sure they didn't mean to kill so many people. Can't we give them community service instead?
Toddler Varian: RACISM!

Just as a little side note to that last question: There's an option in the game menu to allow WoW noises to play in the background while you're tabbed out, that way if your que pops or someone whispers you, you can hear it even though you're not playing at the time.
However my Q for the Q: Has blizzard mentioned anything about it's gemming philosophy for MoP? This whole "red gems > everything else unless your socket bonus is outrageous" mentality has become incredibly painful to follow lately, especially when red gems are upwards of 400g on my server and I find myself trying to gem out http://www.wowhead.com/item=78802
Nick Jan 22nd 2012 1:40PM
1200g for 150str? That's a bargain my good sir.
That said, it would be nice if there was an element of choice in gemming. Maybe I was less savvy in TBC, but I used to gem based upon socket bonus in a lot of cases. Now I just gem red, red and more red.
Shulkman Jan 22nd 2012 1:36PM
Where might I find the bones that are "larger than Galakrond" off the coast of Kalimdor? My curiosity is piqued.
Samuel Jan 22nd 2012 1:44PM
Fairly sure it was a mistake and he meant Dragonblight. Around the Highborne ruins there's a massive skeleton.
Marbles Jan 22nd 2012 1:57PM
Am not sure where THOSE bones are, but if you swim south of Dragonblight (near the ruins pillars that continue the Path of the Titans), you can see an enormous dragon skeleton "etched" into the seabed.
By "etched" I mean they aren't actual bones, but white coloured terrain that show up against the dark background.
Gordal Jan 22nd 2012 1:39PM
Perhaps the Worgen are just trying to be cool and edgy, y'know, by saying that the new moon gives light in an ironic sense.
