The Queue: Do it live
Warpaint is a band you just have to see live. This is a fantastic live version of Burgundy followed by Undertow.
Zaet asked:
Do u think there will ever be another Warcraft RTS?
Put plainly, I'd be incredibly surprised if we saw another entry into the main Warcraft series while WoW was running. Placing Warcraft 4 right after WoW gives Blizzard very little wiggle room when it comes to the MMO's story, but placing it long after WoW sort of invalidates the MMO's story progress altogether. Essentially: "Here's what's going to happen regardless of how WoW's story plays out."
Of course, I'd love to play as an older Arator the Redeemer or even a King Anduin Wrynn, mind you.
yous95 asked:
What is the biggest creature in all of WoW history? I'm guessing Sargeras, but I'm not sure.
On terrestrial Azeroth, I'm fairly certain the largest natural creature (the largest we can identify, anyway) is Galakrond, the big daddy of all dragons. You can see his bones in Dragonblight. There are the bones of another "larger" creature off the coast of Kalimdor, but Galakrond was supposed to be the biggest, so I blame abstractions of size for that.
On Outland, that honor goes to Supremus, at least where in-game size is concerned. He is absolutely massive.
Kaia asked:
why is it that the worgen NPCs say 'May the light of the New Moon guide you' when a New Moon is completely dark and doesn't reflect any light? Am I missing something or what?
It's pretty clearly a mistake. This happens sometimes; see Mat's answer to the "sulfur and brimstone" question yesterday.
pldrx12 asked:
In MoP we will have to chosse a "tier" of talents each 15 levels. That makes 6 for 90 levels. But what will happen with future expansions that "probably" will contain less than 15 levels? They will have no new "tier" or will it imply to somehow rebuild the talent system ? (Hopefully they will containt 15 levels :D)
Every iteration of the talent system has problems, but this one can be fixed simply by changing the levels at which you get new talent points. Don't count on the expansion after MoP taking you to level 105.
JA asked:
Sometimes while queued up for LFR I tab out while I wait... I have missed my queue pop, but it dropped me in the raid anyways without me accepting. Why would it still drop me in the raid without accepting?
You're automatically added to a Raid Finder group unless you explicitly decline it via the prompt. I imagine it's to expedite group formation.

I think you may have answered this before but im not sure. On the Load Screen, I like that they represent current expansions but I miss some of the old ones sometimes, Like the Classic, the Burning Crusade, and the Wrath with the chilly landscape. Do you think WOW will ever give us a Transmog for that so we can pick our Load Screen (the Sign on Screen) since after Cata we will be getting another one for Mists

I'm fairly sure the "New Moon," thing is a nod to the Twilight Saga.

A friend of mine boosted my level 57 druid through Hellfire Ramparts just now. Not normal Ramparts, but heroic Ramparts. Needless to say, I was rather surprised that this was possible. Since when have Burning Crusade heroics been available for under-70s?
Not complaining, mind you!
Draelan Jan 22nd 2012 2:52PM
This might be an unintentional side-effect of removing the keys that unlocked heroic modes from Outland dungeons.
Noyou Jan 22nd 2012 11:24PM
That's very odd since you couldn't run BC heroics until level 70- whether you had the keys or not. Kind of like how you can't run LK heroics until 80. I am interested to know if this in fact has changed or is a bug.

Are there any blogs of this equivalence for SWTOR?
Telwar Jan 22nd 2012 3:32PM
Your best bet is to check out their sister site, Massively.
They *might* make a dedicated site for TOR as part of the Joystiq hierarchy, IF it lasts and is big enough. But they're likely waiting to see if that'd be a good idea. If they'd done, say, WAR Insider, that'd've flopped horribly.

Darth hater is the closest thing to a wowinsider for swtor.

Only launched recently so they're still in the early stages but any regular readers of wow insider will recognize the writers.

Best option for Warcraft 4: set it after Mists of Pandaria, and allow it to explore the Alliance-vs.-Horde war heating up. Essentially it would function like the novels do, letting some story play out that might not fit best into the MMO. Then you'd let the next WoW expansion pick up afterward - maybe going after the Titans-and-old-gods storyline that Metzen hinted at us getting more of, last Blizzcon?
Katherine Jan 22nd 2012 2:46PM
Azeroth's moon is always full though. Or at least it used to be, in classic, when I last checked.
JiBJUB Jan 22nd 2012 2:59PM
Do I really need to step in for this one too? It's not a mistake ... "new" has a meaning other than "totally blacked out moon".
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/new
So in their society ... "New Moon" I'm sure could be an idiomatic expression symbolizing their new life as Worgen. Why in a fantasy game with all different creatures and cultures, do we want to scrutinize the language so strictly? And why does the Queue keep admitting these mistakes on behalf of Blizzard without second thought?
Also, if I am not mistaken, "New Moon" in it's original meaning and for many of our current or ancient cultures here on earth (which shouldn't be relevant, but some of you seem to NEED it so dearly)t means the first visible crescent of the moon... so for Worgen, that first sliver of light would be very apropos, wouldn't it?
C'mon. ;)

Just setup Warcraft 4 as the reason the next expansion is happening. It's not like Blizzard ever explicitly shows the events leading from one expansion pack to another. Instead of handwaving stuff off-stage, give us an RTS showing the events. :)
Ctmcstomperq Jan 22nd 2012 3:11PM
My thought is this, maybe on Azeroth, they consider the full moon to be "new". Considering one of the most powerful empires on the planet knows for a fact that their goddess either lives up there or is, in fact, the larger of Azeroth's two moons(where'd the other one go anyway?) I wouldn't be surprised if the full moon is the center of the lunar cycle, not the other way around.
Zapwidget Jan 22nd 2012 3:30PM
Pretty much what JiBJUB and mhm said. Gilnean's were previously followers of the Light. While at their core, I'm sure many of them still are, with the introduction of the curse and the resulting Druidic teachings and the necessary role druidic magic has in their society, "New Moon" is more of a metaphoric expression than an astronomic one.
It's the new moon, as opposed to the old sun, or old light, or what have you.

what can i say, warpaint grew on me.
freebeatfly Jan 22nd 2012 4:57PM
Awesome video, thanks so much for that! *goes off to find more Warpaint*
Taedex Jan 22nd 2012 5:38PM
In response to the question about being dropped into a raid group without accepting, this is *NOT* what Blizzard intended and is indeed a bug. I've had two GMs respond to in-game tickets telling me they're aware of the problem, fix on the way.
Silversol Jan 22nd 2012 7:18PM
Do you ever think that Blizzard would use the titans 're-organization' as an in-game lore reason to essentially move accounts to an updated version of WoW (different world possibly, graphics system, other things limited by an aging software code base)
Something like, I'm sorry, you've been defeated (there is too much corruption here or something for reason) but have proven that the mortals on this planet are worthy of a new challenge, so we will destroy azeroth, and put you on azeroth jr.
The more I think about it, the dumber my idea is sounding, but I'm going to add the comment anyway to see what others think. This would be more of a 'years down the road' type thing.
Imnick Jan 23rd 2012 10:11AM
I think a vast number of people would hate that and so Blizzard would never do it
