I thought that was more of the point too--that the full moon *represents* primal madness (predators can hunt better when there is more light, right?), whereas a new moon would represent the opposite. A dormant intelligence, and thus a clear way of thought and guidance. While the new moon wouldn't literally give you light, it would "guide" you more than a full moon could ever hope to. It would steer you away from madness and those hunting urges.Another explanation is that they're not really referring to moon phases, but rather that "new" would mean that they see the moon in a new way (such as seeing it as representation of Elune, due to their new Night Elf allies, and can as such respect or even worship it to an extent in a 'new' way). There are a lot of explanations, and I think jumping to any single one and assuming there wasn't any real intent behind the line given (and even considering it a mistake) would be quite foolish.I always tend to try and make sense of things before just assuming they're wrong. It's a habit that's done me well for a long time. I'm fairly nit-picky by nature (and as such little things like this can tend to bother me), and I find the habit does me well of making it less of an issue in-game when I can just rationalize them.
