I WANT MORE CONTROL!!
No, I don't mean over people, but over the system.
1. I love the idea of getting rep for deposits. Right now, the contributors get no real reward (except a note in the guild website or something, and our gratitude). But with this, it would give a tangible reward. But again, I'd love it if there was a way that it could be better controlled. I don't want people just throwing a bunch of junk that me and my officers have to pick through and vendor. Also, would there be a way to keep people from taking a bunch of stuff out and then putting them back in for rep?
2. Better Guild Control. For example, let's say I would like to have Rank 4 be able to promote to people. Right now, they can promote anyone to Rank 5 (which is right below their rank). I would love it if I could set it so certain ranks can promote only to specified ranks. In this instance, I might say Rank 4 can promote people to Rank 7. OR maybe if you have permission to remove someone, you can only do so up to a specified rank (maybe for example, a Veteran might be able to remove only initiates, but not anyone else). I would also like it if they separated the ability of people to make notes betw. self and others. One permission would give people the ability to write or change notes on their own characters, while another would allow people to change any character notes. While this can be a headache, it would give the GL more ability to delegate.
3. Allow a way to actually create Guild Quests. This might be tied to the deposit reward. This can be done for fun (just to break up the monotony) or as a way to gather materials. Have a way that the people will be automatically rewarded upon completion of the quest.
4. Allow certain functionality for simple things that you now have to put on your Website. It's tough getting people to go to a guild site. But the tools in the game are very limited. How about allowing bulletin boards (maybe next to the Guild Vault) where people (maybe contingent on rank) can list NEEDS or short news? I'd love something more than just the MotD to make a list of announcements. While the automatic news is nice, it doesn't always express everyone's special achievements, such as FINALLY getting the title they've been talking about for months, or that rare hunter pet that various members of the guild helped to tame. Here, we can give news, "gratz," requests, important changes, alerts, etc.
5. Some way to help out the small guilds. While you may having the Feast attached to guild achievements, I hate it. We have a very small guild and I think three of us fish (one of them is a new member). A few fish now and then. At this point, we are still not quite 7000 out of 10,000. At least now that they've put the Deepsea sagefish in schools, the numbers have been going up a bit faster, but until they did, it crawled up at a snail's pace. And fishing isn't something I want to make people do. It's horrible and boring. I have endured it for hours, as has one of my officers, just to try to get the number up. I wish the numbers for something like that was somehow tied to the number of accounts in the guild. For guilds that have over 200 accounts, there are probably more people who don't mind fishing. For the little guys, it's just excruciating.
6. YES to a better recruiting tool. I think it needs to be improved for both the guilds and for people looking for guilds. More customization. Just saying you raid WEEKDAYS is kind of too vague. I'd also like more descriptive words we can check off (Social. Family-Friendly. Progression Raiding). I'd also love a better way to handle Requests. I'd want to set up permissions for certain ranks to be able to take care of requests. When a request is made, their name automatically goes into an alert list. When that person comes on, the people who have permission to handle it will get the alert. Also, the people who's names are on the permission list (as well as the GL) will go into the alert list of the applicant. That way, people can actually get in touch with each other to talk, and perhaps, invite. OR for people who don't care, maybe have an Auto-invite feature (which can be toggled on and off) for people they select. It would also be nice if people could look for a guild based on NAME. Maybe they've seen the guild around for awhile or hear good things about them. Right now, you have to scroll down a long list of guilds in . . . I don't even know what kind of order. It would also be nice to have a separate space for your Guild Website, which can easily be copied so that the person looking it up can easily paste into the url box. (I wish you could just click on it and have it take you there but that's probably not even possible. :P)
