The Daily Quest: Nerfs, improvements, and items of interest
WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining
WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
Anyone remember the incident shown in the video above? Man, those were the days. The days of bizarrely overpowered stuff that managed to get through the system. The days of endless kiting -- anyone remember Kazzak visiting Stormwind? How about Devilsaurs being kited from Un'Goro Crater to Orgrimmar? Obviously, these sorts of things had to be nerfed eventually. After all, they got in the way of other people's gameplay.
Last week we heard about nerfs of a different kind, however -- the kind in which raid content is nerfed, some say prematurely and others say not. Today, we've got a pretty good post about those nerfs, as well as a couple of other interesting posts for your reading enjoyment.
Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? Just leave us a comment, and you may see it here tomorrow! Be sure to check out our WoW Resources Guide for more WoW-related sites.

- Dwarven Battle Medic talks about the upcoming progressive nerfs to Dragon Soul content and whether or not they're a good idea.
- World of Saz has some praise for void storage and some fervent wishes for improvement that I totally, 100% agree with.
- The Warchief's Command Board is in the middle of posting a terribly interesting story about Warchief Hellscream. I'd suggest starting from the relative beginning and reading on from there, because really, it's that good. Foul language warning, however!

My all time favorite example of this was when they first introduced DKs and they could stand on a boat and deathgrip a player or NPC... and they'd go flying across Azeroth.

Speaking of Void Storage improvements, I wish there was an easier way of sorting and shuffling through stuff stored in it (This can also apply to banks and actual inventories, but to a lesser degree - Most sane people tend to organise those storages into some sort of logical bag... system thing.).
First off, I wish the in-game search could allow you to filter out items by type or slot - "Ranged", "Pants", "Helm" and the like. I was trying to sort out the gearpile that was my Void Storage (Having just learned today that you can drag and drop items in the storage pane to arrange them. This undocumented feature seems logical but it only occurred to me TODAY THAT YOU CAN DO THIS.) I sorta got lost in a sea of largely identical icons that were just thrown around in my Void Storage, and being able to single out one type of item at a time would've helped. A lot.
Another thing, since VS seems to go hand-in-hand with transmogrifying, why not allow a system where you can group up to nine items together under a single button, like an armour set, that will allow you to automagically transfer the selection without manually clicking?

I loved to go get the Frenzyheart daily "Secret Strength of the Frenzyheart". You could go over to Nesingwary's camp in Scholazar Basin, summon your Argent Squire, and proceed to grab as much Thunderbrew's Hard Ale as you could cram into your bank in 3 minutes (before your Argent Squire heads off to the bank).
Hearth back to Dalaran, go to the bank and pull out the stacks you stashed, put on your Gordok's Ogre Suit and drink, drink drink! The growth effect would stack, and pretty soon people are gawking at this massive smashed ogre that is completely covering the steps of the bank and spewing vomit all over everyoh. Good times!
(Of course, this no longer works.)

Just... damn it, Blizzard, let me put Unique items into my Void Storage. What, are you afraid I'll manage to get two Thunderfuries somehow? Just make everything that's currently Unique into Unique-Equipped so the other half of my tabard collection doesn't have to clog up precious bank space.

This, please.

Fantastic work, comment system. Completely refuse to show my comment I definitely posted until I post it again, why don't you. That won't make people think I'm crazy at all.

I don't think kiting really got in the way of other people's gameplay all that much. Occasionally you'd get a mob in a city that would kill some people, but it's not like it kept them infinitely dead. They usually got killed not too long after they got there. I only remember a few rare occasions when the server was pretty quiet, and a kited mob would go on a rampage for a slightly extended period of time.
I always though it was fun though. I mean you've got these super powerful creatures in the world, and especially in Kazzak's case, you don't think he would ever attempt to destroy a city?
I don't see them being any more of an interruption of gameplay than getting ganked once.
