We all love the Raid Finder. I mean, it's pretty awesome -- you can go and do raids when you have time, enjoying a good chance of actually finishing the raid and grabbing some gear. The Raid Finder is the very definition of a Good Thing.
Of course, it has the same drawback random 5-man groups suffer: the people. While most WoW players are fairly awesome and fun, you always get a person or two whose intense personalities make for a memorable instance.
Wowcrendor tackles this subject with LFR Summed Up in 30 seconds. Take the time to check it out; just like the title says, it's only 30 seconds long. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at moviewatch@wowinsider.com.
Cataclysm.. This is the way the world ends This is the way the world ends This is the way the last boss ends Not with a bang but a whimper.
I do agree with the OP -- compared to previous tiers and expansions the story and the raid and the effort put into making them seem to have been very lackluster.
Most of the content of the patch was on the magnitude of quality of life features -- transmog and raid finder.
Maybe I have just been very lucky. But since cata's release I have had real life interfere with WoW time and haven't been able to raid. My experience in LFR has been nothing but pleasant. The worst I have had to deal with was once on the spine of deathwing DPS who didn't know the fight killed all the tentacles and the tank didn't move the amalgamation to the right spot. After a single wipe, the fight was explained and we went on to finish the raid.
IMHO Raid Finder has been a bright spot of this expansion, and groups are way more cooperative than even 5man lfg's.
Hah... It's especially funny when you have people panicking over the Amalg's health being at half because the tank hasn't picked up any bloods... only for it to be a case of the tank actually being SMART and waiting til the Amalg is low on health (around 4 million or so) before grabbing all the bloods at once... 'Cuz, you know, it does more damage with blood stacks and AoEs once it hits 9, so the less time spent at that point the better for the healers. =P
Is it just me or is Crendor getting more and more predictable? His videos of late are nothing but lacking inspiration and even the machinima (lol) work on them seems rather hasty.
Don't get me wrong (or stone me to death), i used to love his voices and the acidic content of his videos, but as of late i can't help but meh.
I was having an awesome time in LFR for the last three weeks, but this week it all came to a thudding halt. I've always lagged a bit in LFR, but now my computer's started freezing every time Morchok did his "Earthen Vortex" move, pulling all the raid to him. This was not a good thing as it usually meant I lagged just as I was supposed to run for sweet life. You can imagine the name-calling from the raid. I tuned down my settings, I turned off everything in the background, it still happened two times before I finally decided to just call it a loss.
It was fun while it lasted, but I think I'm going to take that long-needed break from WoW for a bit... at least until I upgrade my computer.

Except he forgot the person who goes "I didn't get the loot, that's ghey*"
*putting an 'h' in it makes it less offensive, dontcha know? >.

....yep- sad that the entirety of an expansion ends in such a anti-climatic way.
Vinyl Jan 24th 2012 1:04PM
Not if you don't want to end it that way. Unless other people killing things actually ruins it for you, then I can't help you, friend.

For a second, I thought it was just going to be thirty seconds of the GOGOGO Guy.
Nishan Jan 24th 2012 12:42PM
and the person who thinks it would be awesome to pull the adds on the side while you're in the middle of fighting the first boss.
terph Jan 24th 2012 12:51PM
or the person who wants to pull the boss and all the slimes while you're clearing trash for Yor...
monotype Jan 24th 2012 12:54PM
What? Morchok gets lonely sometimes. He needs friends.
Davio Jan 24th 2012 1:25PM
Is that not the 'I am pulling everything!' guy?

Although, the bubbles of text (/say and /yell) over people's heads on Spine crack me up every time.
"Stop DPS"
"Move you noob tank"
"Kill bloods"
"What are you doing?!?"
"Don't...stop....oh geez"
"Oh Great, nice work genius"
"Tank move it!"
Still waiting for a video on that.

@Pam
Thank you for reminding me of last night's raid. My nervous tick has returned. Please provide your address so I may forward my therapy bills.

this has been my experience, too, @johnthediver. i don't get where all the complaints are coming from.

I knew the Gogogo Guy and the I'm Pulling Everything Guy would show back up together in the Raid Finder!
I think I see them every Saturday night. >.>;;
