Breakfast Topic: Who's the new star of the expansion?

But she's not the only one. Take, for example, Johnny Awesome over in Hillsbrad Foothills -- or any of the three "players" you encounter during the Welcome to the Machine quest, really. All of them are reflections of us, in a hysterical, larger-than-life way. Or Lorna Crowley, who introduced herself in Gilneas City with a flower in her hair and a shotgun in her hands. Or Salhet, the weak link in the Tol'vir army who tries his best, even if he isn't amazing at hand-to-hand combat.
There were tons of new NPCs introduced with Cataclysm, but Mylune stands out as one of my favorites, just because she makes me recall the first time I ever clicked on a dryad in vanilla WoW and was greeted with a cheery "Hi there!" in reply. Do you have a favorite NPC that was introduced with Cataclysm? Who stands out in your mind?

i think it goes without contest that Mylune would be ranked pretty high up on the list
for me, mine would be Telarius Voidstrider
for 1 simple reason - his existence, along with his artifact, gives me a glimmer of hope to looking forward becoming/rerolling a Demon Hunter

Cannot agree with this enough! I want Demon Hunter class soooo much, ever since that quest in Azshara where you took the fel puppy around. I was such a small and impressionable baby druid then!
Ah Mylune, arguably my favorite new NPC. But her frightened animal friends need a bigger hit box to click on them >

I really don't think that anyone could argue that Mylune is by far one of the most interesting characters that's been introduced to wow ever. I know that personally I have at least 5 macros that specifically reference her. My raid group is very thankful that 'call of mylune' has such a long cooldown. They only have to hear my Mylune love about 3 times a night.

Zuni. "Hey, mon, don't make me look too bad!" hahaha. I just love the guy. Genuinely enjoyed going through that cave with him ("Ya messed with da wrong trolls!"), for once there's an NPC who isn't totally useless.
I was gutted when he died :( But I still have screenshots of my troll chatting to him on one of the bridges on the Isles!

They should bring him back as a death knight stationed somewhere mundane in mists of pandaria. No quests to give and out of the way of normal questing. but if a troll passes by he'll say "hey mon remember me im back!" i'd squeal like a little girl
Samuel Jan 25th 2012 3:59PM
@joshy: Who'd raise him? Ol' Arthas is dead, and the Ebon Blade don't create death knights.

Fargo Flintlocke.
Alas, your presence is only limited to the very start of Twilight Highlands.... ya know, thats maybe for the best for the whole world.
(You still owe me 100g for turning me into a cannon ammunition)

Fargo Flintlocke is the reason why we couldn't have a Twilight Highlands opening that made sense. We could have had an explanation as to why we're so passive. Could've seen Varian in action.
Instead, we got Flintlocke.

Zen'kiki is the best "It burns like the moon!"
There are many others good NPCs, but nothing compare to him..."Shapeshift! Get ready to taste my claws"...I mean...I can't even describe how awesome he is.
ravyncat Jan 25th 2012 9:13AM
Absolutely Zen'Kiki! he is the most adorable incompetent druid ever. I LOVE his upside down seal form on land. XD
And when he finds he really is a Resto Druid, he gets to be a permanent Classic Tree. ^^

my favorite by far is Maximilian in Un'Goro. His questline is epic. Plus, the agility trinket you get for completing it all will last you all the way through outlands (if you are a class that uses agility)
evoxpisces Jan 25th 2012 9:16AM
While not my favorite NPC, I agree in that he was very memorable and a lot of fun.

My two favorite new characters of this expansion are both trolls - Zuni and Zen'kiki. I was terrified the first time I ran through the Zen'kiki quests. I was sure that Blizzard wouldn't be putting this much development into a character who was going to survive. I was positive that we'd have a bogus heart-wrenching death scene at the end.
How glad I am that I was wrong.
And I've got to give a shoutout to Fiona's Caravan, while we're thinking about Plaguelands. Great little storyline.
ceinwyn_huntress Jan 25th 2012 1:31PM
I agree -- I LOVE Gidwin and Tarenar and their quest to become paladins of the Argent Crusade! Their dialogue as you ride the caravan from tower to tower is adorable, and I've always been sucker for cross-faction friendships (shout-out to Anren Shadowseeker and Tholo Whitehoof!).

There really is no contest. It's ...
(is distracted by a passing butterfly and never completes the sentence)
srodrigueziii Jan 25th 2012 9:51AM
Sooo... Mylune then?
Draelan Jan 25th 2012 2:03PM
I need to hug a bunny, RIGHT NOW!
Possum Jan 25th 2012 9:06PM
Well I'd like to hug a bunny right now to. Who wouldn't? Aw, the fuzzyness.
RetPallyJil Jan 26th 2012 2:48AM
Poor little shelly-shells! :(
