I've never actually read anything involving Broxigar (mostly because I despise Knaak's writing) but from what I have read of him, he seems little different from, and no less out of place in the war of the ancients as Rhonin himself.
Why exactly Blizzard agreed to let Knaak write anything involving time travel is beyond me.

You realize Knaak doesn't force Blizzard to publish stuff, right? You might not like his characters, but blaming him for the plot is stupid. Blizzard approved the storyline before the book was written, if it wasn't directly given to him to flesh out.

The War of the Ancients books, while not the best, still offer some interesting story.
Brox is the best character to come out of all of them. I always felt he kind of had that Lethal Weapon attitude. He was too old for this crap, and he was suicidal. He needed an honorable death though. His character is probably the one that kept me reading the books.
