I assume this means no Titan announcement this year. =(
quelaenvyn Jan 25th 2012 11:39AM
No Titan is mostly like the release to drop Blizcon this year there nothing new to announce this year with all 3 of the big game have a release this year. Which mean there nothing to Hype either so save money and made start work on the new models,
Ragthorne Jan 25th 2012 8:21AM
Say Whaaaaaaaaat????
Chris Jan 25th 2012 8:21AM
Say it isn't so...and I had finally decided to go this year.
ben bizzarro Jan 25th 2012 8:22AM
This better be some kind of cruel joke?
ElrithCC Jan 25th 2012 8:22AM
That sucks. I love Blizzcon for their huge announcements.
omedon666 Jan 25th 2012 8:27AM
Exactly. And there clearly won't be one, so the convention loses much of its appeal.
I, personally, would prefer silence over "Geek is".

I think they realized that if they held Blizzcon this year, they would have to field questions like "How come 6 million people dumped WoW in the last year?" (yes, I predict they will lose 4 million more subscribers if they continue on their current course of dumbing the game down with greater impugnity than George Lucas did to the Star Wars franchise of movies).

That's a super intelligent, and not at all ridiculous theory.

they never lost 6 million people. they cut 1m accounts that were fake/bots/gold sellers.
Aranyszin Jan 25th 2012 2:11PM
@ josh
Please read my whole message. I realize they have not lost 6 million subscribers. To date, they are down just under 2 million from the peak. As I said, I speculated that they would lose another 4 million by the time Blizzcon would have actually occurred. Which is a little bit of an exaggeration for effect, but meant to convey that they are bleeding subscribers, and that I think they will continue to do so.

Dear Aranyszin,
I realize you must be shocked at the horrific disaster The TORtanic has become. I know you desperately wanted Bioboobs to crush Blizzard, but it won't happen.
You see my dear hater, there is no WOW Killer, in fact, to your horror, Pandas will take WOW to a new high in Subs.
Blizzard is now the one and only MMO company, and you will just have to twist in agony as you realize that.
PJ Jan 25th 2012 8:22AM
Interesting.
I wonder if there is a deeper and more secret reason for this.
fudge Jan 25th 2012 8:30AM
Speculation:
By fall 2012, both Diablo 3 and Mists of Pandaria would've been released, leaving Blizzard with only another Starcraft expansion to showcase as Titan is obviously still far in the future.
Jason Jan 25th 2012 8:32AM
Sure, three big dirty secret is that they'll be between WoW expansions, Diablo and HotSwarm will have been released, and they still won't have anything to say about Titan. No content no BlizzCon 2012... but I guarantee in 2 years they'll make it TitanCon 2013 for a 2014 launch window.
Orrine Jan 25th 2012 8:54AM
Of course there's a 'deeper' reason. While it seems that Blizzard operates as usual, Old God, who slumbered under the headquarters, awakened. So now while little part of the team continues to develop games, the rest digs out their dark master and makes bloody sacrifices.
Additionaly, this is the reason why games are delayed last months.

@Orrine
Oh man, not *another* "former good guy gets corrupted by an Old God" story...
Well, I'll still look forward to the Chris Metzen raid boss, who, ironically, is NOT voiced by Chris Metzen.
