Quest: Impossible is actually a few years old, but tipster Captain Guy suggested it for a re-watch. And since a new installment in the
Tom Cruise vehicle has recently hit mainstream media, now's as good a time as any to take a look back at
Quest: Impossible.
The premise of the video is fairly simple. A crack team of Horde agents is tasked with blowing up portions of Alliance territory, most notably Stormwind itself. They seem to do a fairly good job, though some of the visual narrative is a little confusing.
Quest: Impossible has a nice punch line at the end that explains why the Q:I team was sent in the first place. It's worth a laugh or two, although players who weren't around for world PvP in vanilla might need some translation. I'll leave that spoiler to commenters, since I don't want to ruin the joke here.

Isn't that the group from Tales from the Crossroads?

Yes.

Woo-hoo! Thank you for featuring this again! I was just watching it last night on my computer, and here it is here! :-D
Yes, this is the video I created a couple of years ago that wound up being the catalyst for Tales from the Crossroads. I had initially given thought to having it be an animated series, but this one alone took over two months to create, due to my work schedule at the time plus the huge number of effects layers involved, many of which were created from scratch.
This is a wonderful "christening" as it were for "Tokkar & Jekk - The Early Years" that I just started on Sunday! http://earlyyears.site40.net - I have two online right now, and it will be updating every Monday and Wednesday for now, and may increase to a daily (Monday through Friday) if I can somehow get some financial backing (I'm working on it).
Again, thanks for featuring this! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
Tokkar is a happy orc! :-D

I loved your video! The horde races working together to destroy Stormwind. Of course, if it was made Cataclysm era, the Goblins would of left most of the Eastern Kingdoms in a pile of ashes :P. One question though, what happens at 3:00 to 3:03 with the Undead and Elf? Did she tackle him or something? lol
Tokkar Jan 26th 2012 2:30PM
When Tokkar flexed after he pushed the button to destroy the covered bridge between Westfall and Duskwood, he hit Jekk full on and knocked him back into a wall. Jekk stood up, dagger in hand, and was launching himself at Tokkar. Fiera tackled him to keep that from happening. :-)

LMAO love the punch line!!

U2's rythm section played that theme. I can do the bass on my bass guitar--I just love it. So nice to hear something U2 either redid or did themselves in a wow movie for once. Cute vid.

This amused me greatly, but I had a little lump in my throat seeing Jekk again. I still have to wipe the (ahem) dust out of my eye when i think about him and his fate. Nice work. I hadn't seen this before, tho i'm a huge fan of TOTC.

Jekk seems to have easily become everyone's favorite. He's upbeat (instead of dour like nearly every Forsaken NPC), has a cocky attitude, and is refined...well, refined in a Hannibal Lecter sort of way anyway.
Head over to my new site! It's all about Tokkar & Jekk, how they got their start (just like the rest of us shlubs, really, but we're talking about *these* two here...heh...), how they meet, and everything that happens to them BEFORE their IQF days :-)
http://earlyyears.site40.net
You can also see it, for now, on the original "Tales" site. I wanted to have it with the same address and just add a subdirectory for it, but I can only create 2 MySQL databases on my server unless I pay them a monthly fee that I can't afford right now, so the solution? They even provided one - hey, create a new free site on our servers! I honestly don't know how they make any money. Oh well...

That was a pretty cool video, Tokkar. I wasn't around for Vanilla World PvP, but I heard about how the Crossroads would be attacked en masse. It still is, randomly, by high level players, only to be run out by high level Horde. lol
Tokkar Jan 26th 2012 8:58PM
Just FYI on the premise behind the video (I'm surprised no one has caught this in the nearly 3 years it's been up! Le sigh...) - they weren't tasked with taking out Stormwind and some key Alliance targets, they were tasked from shutting off all commerce and supply routes INTO (and out of) Stormwind:
Bridge from Duskwood into Westfall
Bridge into Stormwind itself from Elwynn Forest
Stormwind docks
Deeprun Tram
Lastly, the bridge in Redridge to cut off support from Iron Forge overland. :-)
Of course, there are still flight points, Fel-TV and porting, but you can't fly a siege engine anywhere on a griffin or port in a ballista!
Now with Stormwind cut off, the Horde can send Zepps from Grom'gol and bomb the bejeezuz out of them! Muahhaahahahaaaa!!!
*ahem*
ScrubRogue Jan 27th 2012 3:23PM
All they did was attack the Crossroads! (LOL)
