Blizzard looking into weapon enchant display solution

While I agree with Blizzard that iconic and recognizable looks are a great way to pinpoint what items are capable of how much damage and power, as we have seen with transmogrification, the general scope of iconic looks has changed drastically. If it's possible and feasible, Blizzard will allow us to toggle our enchants, especially after the success of transmogrification.
Toggle for weapon enchants?
I realize this thread has been around for a while but the topic is still relevant. As many of you may or may not know, weapon enchants have been a feature of World of Warcraft since the beginning. Providing iconic and recognizable looks to various enchants is something that's added an element of uniqueness to the game and to your character. However, we do understand they can sometimes overpower the aesthetics of the awesome weapons you can obtain in game now. It's certainly something we have discussed with the developers recently and we'll be looking into potentially allowing an enchant toggle. If and when such a feature is introduced, we'll be sure to let the community know as soon as possible.

Am I the only one who loves BRIGHT AND SPARKLY enchants? A toggle would be great, because I want MOAR SPARKLES.

This list is aimed at rogues, but it contains weapons other melee classes can use.

Personally, I love the look of the Ceremonial Warmaul Blood-Blades.

You can also use the MogIt addon to search for glowing weapons.

A little off-topic, but also related... Am I the only one who would like the option of having caster off-hand items remain visible on our characters? They put all this work into designing these items that are almost never seen (unless I intentionally draw my weapon) that it seems kind of a waste.

I know, and even then we can't transmog the ones we like.
I have an undead priest I've given a black transmog theme. I also have black roses (a green quality item) that I was going to transmog my offhand into, but nooooo.... Thats an absurd item (as opposed to the multicolored offhand flowers that mog just fine). I don't need to be an undead death priest with black funeral flowers, that would just be silly.

My preference would be to simply remove associated glows from weapon enchants. Then we could visit an NPC who for a set fee will imbue an enchanted weapon with whatever glow we want, much like we use transmog now.

The weapon enchant problem is especially bad for gnomes since the enchant is 'compressed' when it is scaled down to fit the smaller weapons. I spent a lot of time finding daggers with built in glows that override the enchant animation.

I would love to see a toggle option introduced.
While weapon enchants can look really amazing and eyecatching, I really dislike the way they can clash with or obscure your character's appearance. I play a hunter, for example, so my melee weapon is always surrounded by a giant green glow. It rarely looks nice, and especially now with transmog I hate how it can ruin the overall effect of a set. I'm trying to stick to weapons that don't display enchant effects, but the option to hide it completely would be amazing. I do hope they follow through with this.

I'm really glad that my staff is bugged and doesn't have enchant graphics showed. Power Torrent Is horrible.

It depends on the toon. I absolute love it on my elemental shaman. She's in full Cataclysm (tier 5), with a flaming shield, and the burning crown out of MC. The fact her axe is also just completely covered in flames is awesome (except when they turn purple).

Toggle weapon enchant.
Toggle tabard.
With transmog- the chest/pants on my mage can't be seen since I'm building rep using a tabard, same with my Prot Warrior.

I'd rather have the tabards toggled on/off. Or have them fixed so that they work right on robes.

Personally I would like like the following options in relation to the weapon enchant "model".
1) Toggle the enchant on / off. Simple solution for the task at hand, however it could be improved upon. Read further.
-or-
2) A vendor that will for a fee remove the weapon glow and for a 2nd fee apply any other weapon enchant glow that you would like. This would also help act as a gold sink and remove some gold from the economy where gold is just too easy to come by.
-or-
3) Add another category to a profession tree (enchanting is easiest and would be appropriate) where a professional can create scrolls that will remove a weapon glow and you can apply the spell effects of any other enchant that the enchanter knows (which means if it were enchanting, and you haven't farmed Mongoose, you can't create the scroll with that enchant glow). Keep the required materials for a given spell effect in line with the original spell (obviously slightly lowered) and that could be viable.

Could simply add a box to the transmog window that allows you to place a 'scroll of enchantment' into it that would then give the quality of that enchant to your weapon. Could add a blank enchantment to give it no effect, or something like a 'scroll of deathfrost' to change the current effect. Sure it would take up some more bank space for people to keep scrolls of their favorite enchants around, but since the entire enchant scroll system is already in place this may require the least resources on blizzards part. I suppose they would need 2 boxes for dual wielders, but never the less they could just be smaller boxes underneath the weapon boxes that you just add the scroll of your liking to. Then you maintain the preview function, and it fits in well with the whole theme of transmog.

I would love that function. I love the hurricane effect ( lightning and such ) but it's not exactly the best enchantment for a retribution paladin.
On the other hand I hate the Landslide enchantment because it looks rather suspicious when I'm flying around and a bunch of brown stuff flies right into the camera....
I'm just sayin'....
