Phat Loot Phriday: Iron Boot Flask

The four rode into Tirisfal without much fanfare. Lolegolas was careful to guide the party away from the dirt road, staying out of sight from the undead guards who stalked the kingdom's highway. Throgg grew increasingly quiet.
"I've not smelled Abercrombie," the Gilnean said quietly. "Not a whiff of a food court, Hot Topic, or Cinnabon within miles."
Miranda stared at the druid hard for a moment. "You stealing my gig, Spot?"
"My name is not Spot," the Gilnean replied absently. "We'll have to go into Undercity beneath Lordaeron." He frowned, and his jaw clenched. "Hate that place."
Lolegolas clapped the Gilnean on the shoulder, speaking quietly. "If it helps at all, we do, too. No one likes reminders of bad days."
"This is very touching, but let's keep to business. We'll need to take the sewer exit in," Miranda said. "We could maybe hitch a ride with one of the inevitable Alliance raids, but I think we're better off sneaking in. Ride flying mounts to stick near to the ceiling, maybe, until we get close to Sylvanas."
"And then we all die horribly?" Lolegolas said. "We can accomplish that plan anywhere, we don't have to go into Undercity to do it."
Miranda reached under her jacket and produced a small Iron Boot Flask.
"Miranda!" Throgg exclaimed suddenly. "You are too young to be carrying around alcohol."
The young woman peered at Throgg, narrowing her eyes. "Did you really just say that? Do you have any basis to guess how young or old a human female is?"
"Well, no," Throgg said. He kicked the ground abashedly. "But it felt appropriate."
"Anyway, it's not like that," Miranda continued. "It's a potion. We'll go disguised as Iron Dwarves."
"I'm ... not sure I see how that will help," Lolegolas said slowly. "It's not like Sylvanas has a secret treaty with Iron Dwarves or something."
Miranda sighed. "No. But it's a common thing for both factions to do. We all like being Iron Dwarves. So, people in the Undercity will see us and assume we're just Horde in a costume instead of Alliance in costume."
"Uh. Little elf and I will be Horde in costume," Throgg pointed out.
"Just go with it," Miranda sighed.

In my guild "time to flask" means pop one of these, because its time to finally kill this boss.

Same, except we "boot up!"
Morgatho Jan 28th 2012 3:08AM
My guild had a running joke back in wrath that this was required to raid and when someone yelled "DWARF IT UP!" everyone would pop there IBF's and would usually lead to a boss being downed.

Clearly, the Undercity guards haven't learned to leave on nameplates.

What sword is that? /swoon
lady.silverdragon Jan 27th 2012 9:41PM
It's the Red Sword of Courage, and it drops from Trial of the Crusader (dungeon, not raid) so it's pretty easy to farm up for transmog. I personally think its one of the most attractive sword models in the game!
Tsuki Jan 27th 2012 9:40PM
That would be Red Sword of Courage from King Ymiron in Heroic Utgarde Pinnacle.

@ Tsuki- you're right- why did I think I got it from trial of the crusader? Still easy to get though :-)

Could also be Liar's Tongue from Heroic Halls of Reflection, when you succesfully run away from Arthas. Also the shield is Royal Crest of Lordaeron from Heroic CoT: Culling of Stratholme, also Last boss in that dungeon.

I checked the comments just to see if anyone would ask for the sword or shield :P

Every time I use this item I think about how awesome the new dwarf models will be when Blizzard updates them. And how cool would it be to choose to be an iron or earthen dwarf skin, one of the new members of the Alliance after the campaign in Northrend?

This reminds of the time my guild did an achievement run in Ulduar and I was the only one who remembered to bring one of these for Iron Assembly achievement!

I just love this column. The way you pack characterization, humor, and group interaction (which can be really hard to write!) into a few hundred words a week is just consistently delightful, even if we fans of the writing mostly emerge when Throgg and Lolegolas have a moment.
