The Queue: Shrimp cycle

Every once in a while, I will get an unstoppable craving for Benihana shrimp that will be impossible to sate until I go to Benihana and get shrimp. I believe I am at the beginning of my shrimp cycle.
@ccbloodworth on Twitter asked:
is it possible that the post-Deathwing construction will be finished in MOP or the lead-in patch? I'm tired of the cranes.
It is very possible that the construction on Stormwind and Orgrimmar might be complete by the time Mists of Pandaria rolls around and that we might get the rebuilding in stages over the course of a few months as part of the in-game launch events. Personally, I would very much like to aid in the reconstruction now that the Deathwing menace has been taken care of. Relative peace has blanketed Azeroth -- at least, you know, the kind of peace that has Azeroth at a stable place in terms of not being utterly consumed by the Old Gods.
@deegeejay on Twitter asked:
Do you think with the success of Transmog, future weapons will be classed as one-hand instead of main-hand to open up more options?
Yes. I fully believe that over the course of the next year or two, the transmogrification rules will become more lax. We might get the main-hand/off-hand/one-hand rules changes first, and more as time goes on. Blizzard is still experimenting with the system, and as it realizes that it wasn't the end-all destruction of the world and in fact endeared people to their characters, gear, and look more than ever, we will get a reduction in rules. Until then, we have to play by the established rules.
The success of the transmogrification system, along with the Raid Finder, are two unprecedented changes and innovations for World of Warcraft that have dramatically altered the focus of the developers and the game itself. We don't see it now, but we will see it soon. The hints have already been given: challenge mode dungeons with cosmetic rewards, raids being accessed and completed by a huge number of new people, and an expansion built around the Wrath principles of fun stuff to do at level cap. We are in for an expansion that looks a lot different than what we have become accustomed to with Cataclysm.
mr.e81 asked:
Theramore is little more than a ghost town these days. I do not think it will be a big loss to the alliance. I am positive that something huge will happen to the Horde since the Garrosh took over and he is hated within his faction.
Theramore may have little significance to players now that we aren't all level 60 and the place isn't the picture-perfect staging ground for an assault on Onyxia's lair that it once was, but the naval city still is extremely important to the Alliance. Not only is Theramore one of the largest coastal ports on Kalimdor for the Alliance, but the road that has been paved through Dustwallow Marsh into the Stonetalon Mountains is a straight roadway from the invasion forces at Theramore to the biggest Alliance offensive front on the continent.
If Theramore falls, the Alliance loses a huge piece of its strategy on Kalimdor. Taking out Theramore isn't exactly taking out the capital of the Alliance invasion, considering night elves from the northern areas of Ashenvale and Azshara are fighting back against their Horde encroachers. The target is still a hugely powerful presence in the region, and destroying Theramore and Jaina's base of operations is only going to anger her and turn displaced refugees into dyed-in-the-wool, Horde-hating citizens of the Alliance.

I didn't think warlocks were capable of shedding tears.
They have a glyph that changes the color of their tears to green.

I have a great idea but its a little far fetched and would require too much work but what if player participation in an area changed the zone. Not phased but it changed for everyone so over time every server becomes unique. And there could be quests where you have to choose which direction to take. Say you can choose one path or another but not both and whatever you choose influinces the enviroment for everybody and isn't phased. Also as the enviroment changes so do the quests. This would give leveling a new character alot of replay value and make the world feel like it were actually moving foreward instead of you just following a track of quests that never change. After a while every server would be unique. I just absolutely loved what they did with the sunwell event. Give daily quests a bigger meaning that just gold and rep.

Metzen said at Blizzcon that "Love of Life" is what describes Pandaria. If the Pandaren are so entwined with life, why can't they be Druids?

Warlocks, can't shed tears. The guy-liner would run.

I tell ya what, if Blizz decides to change the transmogrification rules so that weapons types (1-hand to 1-hand, 2-hand to 2-hand) can be transmogrified (a la bows-guns-crossbows), my Death Knight would be rocking Quel'Delar all the damn time.

Even better than that, we need to be able to transmog One-Hand, Main Hand and Off-Hand weapons into each other.

Two questions for the Queue!
- Did we ever find out WHY Ravenholdt took Wrathion's egg?
- What, exactly, is a mouseover macro and what does it do?
detailbear Jan 29th 2012 6:19PM
A mouseover macro allows you to push the bound key and it will target whatever your mouse pointer is currently highlighting. So instead of point/left-click/button you hover over/button. It's a faster way to choose the target of your spell.
If you put "wow mouseover macro" in your favourite search engine, you'll get lots of examples, including guides if you've never made a macro before.
I"ll let a lore master answer the question about the egg.
Nathanyel Jan 31st 2012 8:12AM
As I understood it, Wrathion manufactured his own escape, and then contacted Ravenholdt, or instructed its rogues to whisk his egg away, so that he may hatch outside the red dragons' influence.

Why is dreamcloth BoP? And why is it still on a cooldown?

I have been away from the game since the end of Wrath. Never touched Cataclysm. Now I have a bit more time and could play again.
That being said I am considering picking up cataclysm and getting back into the fray. My question, do you think it is way too late in the game to start with this expansion now?

Apologies if this is a subject that's already been covered in this column; but I'm wondering if Blizzard has ever considered giving us an account bound storage space. It would be a great place for toons to drop gathered mats so they can be accessed by the rest of the toons on the account. Is there a reason that they can't or won't give this to us?
detailbear Jan 29th 2012 6:26PM
One reason would be to prevent cross-server and cross-faction trading. Blizzard doesn't mind if you ship materials between toons in the same faction on the same server, but can you imagine if someone started buying up all the cheap Mega-Epic gems or Deathwing's Dandruff on one server and selling them on another server where they're hyper expensive? Keeping the economy on each server stable is necessity to keep the game fair and fun.
Sean Jan 30th 2012 8:50AM
Couldn't they set it up to be limited to the server? All I want to do is store all my mats used for crafting. All my toons are on the same server.
Nathanyel Jan 31st 2012 8:13AM
Bank alts + their own guilds and guild banks.
Sean Jan 31st 2012 9:45AM
mmmm no. . . . that still doesn't accomplish what I'm aiming for as my toons are happy with the guild that they're in.
I just want them to have a shared storage space for gems, metals/ores, herbs, leather, etc. .. .
This way all my crafters have access to the mats without having to do the log off and on multiple times and mailing stuff back and forth.
this might also relieve stress on the mail system.
gusto_nl Feb 3rd 2012 10:15AM
Uhm. Stress on the mail system?
I think items in the game are stored in databases flagged by location in your bag, fault, mail or what ever. I don't think WoW has a problem like an overloaded post-office or server like real life solutions.
But the whole logging in and out of toons sucks.
And all items in WoW won't do you any good in real life anyway. Create a fish-feast while being starved behind your gaming rig.
The only thing that is real is being noobed and flamed in-game and feeling bad about it in real life. The same thing counts for downing a boss and feeling good about it in real life.
But nobody gives a $#@! in real life anyway.
lol. Yes I quit a few moths ago.
