Around Azeroth: Desolation, at last
Submitter Muagen of Beautiful Disaster on Eldre'Thalas (US-H) sent in this screenshot from End Time, where the ravages of Deathwing turned the bleak and forbidding zone of Dragonblight ... about 10% more bleak and forbidding. Really, he couldn't have attacked Sholazar Basin or somewhere where he could actually do some impressive damage? All he's done in Stars' Rest is slightly prune the trees.

If this title is a Grant Lee Buffalo reference, that's really, really awesome.

If you want to go see the blackened End Time version of Dragonblight for yourself, there is quite an easy way to get out there via the place where you fight Sylvanas. Near the tree where a few ghouls and skeleton birds fight over a carcass (you'll have to kill them) you can make a mounted jump to the ledge behind them that lets you get up the tree. Run along the tree on the right side, and an open path straight to Wyrmrest Temple is in front of you :)
It's quite amazing to run around there, pretty much the whole zone is there, completely redone as a black charred version. There is no life, apart from a few gryphons and windriders still perched on their posts, and a poor trapped crab and baby orca at the Kalu'ak villages.
You can see part of the zone from the entrance of the instance and some of the areas you fight, but at most places invisible walls block you from entering. Let's hope they don't close this way off.. also would be a bit silly when Blizz redesigned the whole zone only to have 90% of it invisible for players hehe :)
(P.S. don't jump in the hole in the world near Wintergarde Keep, I've tested it and it does not end well ;))
