What always annoys me about characters describing their unblemished beauty is the sense of redundancy I get from it. I don't need your character description to remind me of how beautiful you are--it's kind of assumed for most roleplayers I meet. Especially las chicas--how much WoW fanart have you seen of old hags or muscly she-men? Long, flowery descriptions of a character's beauty just distract me from a real physical description.Of course, there are times when it makes sense to dwell overlong on these sort of things. If you're playing some kind of courtesan or sensuous character, or need to describe a trait associated with beauty that your particular race is not known for, then it's necessary to the character's appearance to communicate such things. But for most characters, such writings come off as little more than a love letter to your own character, and instills the wrong ideas about what your toon is about.
