Breakfast Topic: What's the worst trash pull in the game?

There's nothing especially fun or challenging about it. You stand around and DPS dragons. It lasts way too long, and the dragons have such low health that most of my DoT spells really don't do much of anything. I can only imagine how bad it must be for melee players, who barely have time to even get to the dragons before they're dead. And as a final insult, the damn dragons don't even drop loot.
Trash pulls are never really much fun in general, but Ultraxion trash is definitely a Dragon Soul low point. That's my opinion, but how about you -- what trash pull do you think is the worst? How you define worst is up to you: most challenging, most annoying, most time-consuming, hardest to tank, hardest to heal -- whatever makes you want to defenestrate your keyboard the most.

The trash in ToC was the worst by far...

C'thun. C'thun C'thun C'thun.
No one remembers C'thun trash? Really? People offered to sacrifice guildmates to ancient bloodthirsty deities if the deities would make the trash pulls go away.

Does no one remember pre-C'thun trash? They were some difficult pulls!

Shattered Halls. The 7 pull. Basically impossible without 3 CC-capable DPS... and not every class had CC back then.

Pre-nerf XT trash and/or pre-nerf Mimiron trash. Honorable mention to AQ 40 trash (all of it) because it takes so long, even if you're less likely to wipe on it than some other trash packs.

What I have gathered from the vast majority of the comments is that people complain not about trash packs that are actually boring or tedious to kill, à la Ultraxion, but rather about trash that required people to think and use their class toolbox beyond spamming AoE spells. The trash packs in TBC dungeons and raids, for example, that can actually CC and required players to be smart about how they went about killing them.
I for one enjoy dangerous patrols that require a combination of CC to take down. It pushes players to learn the full potential of their class and spec. It is far more challenging and what's the point in playing a game if it offers no challenge. :)
By the same token, trash such as the Ultraxion dragons, are a colossal waste of time. I fail to see what gameplay value is added by having them in the game.

Are the mobs right before Blackhorn able to be called trash?
Then its the trash before Blackhorn. 2 big dragons shooting fireballs everywhere, 2 big melee that charging randomly and unexpectedly, stealth sappers comming from nowhere... oh, and that repeats 3 times... ugh...
Don't even come to me talking about Ultraxion trash...

I guess I'm dating myself a bit here, but I remember early Wrath when the first few pulls in AN were the scourge of a PUG. "Shadowcasters! No! Focus fire the Shadowcasters!"
Good times.

Ultraxion. First time on trash. After whole platform got in flames we started thinking we are doing something wrong (taunting? naah why should we).

The last trash pack before the first boss in heroic Shattered Halls. If you didn't have a pally tank back in TBC, ouch.
Jovini Jan 30th 2012 1:38PM
the last pull in magisters terrace could be next to impossible. the mobs in that trash pack were random, and if you got the wrong combo, you were screwed no matter mow much CC your group might have had.
auxonin Jan 30th 2012 2:06PM
The last pull in Hour of Twilight with the broken terrain that the mobs can throw you down causing the tanks to take 50%+ falling damage. Worst design I have ever tanked.

Vanilla ZG was lousy with trash, If I had a dollar for every time someone came running in to where everyone was prepping for the next fight with a pack of trolls and crocodiles chasing them down... On a side note, runs only take 20 minutes now days? I just picked the game back up, and am leveling right now, but I remember Having to break MC up into 2 days because it took 4 hours, and that was without a wipe. Did you ever run LBRS and UBRS in one go? It took forever. If what I'm reading is right, though, everything is basically Vanilla Ony time-wise? This is great news.

The trash of Oculus. I'll never go back to that place!!!
FurryCrew Jan 31st 2012 8:02PM
Very few people will remember this or even have actually done when it was its worst/hardest.
Mid/Late Vanilla.
Trash pulls just before AND just after Twin Emps in AQ40.
If you didn't die on every pull it was considered a success.
To top it all off the corpse run BACK to the trash before Twin Emps was HORRIFICLY LONG!

Twin Emps to C'Thun Trash.
There's no competition, end of story.
