What I don't understand is why Blizz doesn't just move toward a 10/20 man raiding model as opposed to 10/25. It makes no sense to me, whatsoever, to try and balance fights, loots, drops, etc. around a 2.5x raid size.I would like to point out that saying that it's harder on dps in a 25 man raid comp is not necessarily true. There's a few reasons that Blizz expects you to pull slightly more dps on a fight like ultraxion, where there's no mechanics really...just a straight dps check.1) As has been pointed out, you are 1/17th of the damage dealing group in the raid. Any way you slice it, there's less of an impact is 1/17th is under-performing than if 1/5th is.2) 3 battle rezzes. That's three mistakes that can be made in 25 man. 10 man gets one.3) Pointing to dps, and saying it's tighter on 25 man is a bit of a manipulated truth. Sure, maybe Ultraxion requires 1.5k more dps on 25 man. But you also get more raid buffs. A 25 man raid is probably going to have every single raid buff available. Not so much in 10 man. You also have more CDs. And for every person that pulls UNDER that amount, you've got more people making that up. For example...if ONE person is only pulling 21k dps, that only bumps the requirement up to 29.5k dps for the other 17 dps. Alternatively, if ONE dps pulls 21k dps, the requirement for the other 4 jumps up to about 29.75k dps.I'm not trying to argue that 10 man is inherently more difficult. I'm not arguing that it's easier. It's flat out different. The two cannot necessarily be compared straight up. Each have areas of difficulty, each has areas of strengths. They're each unique experiences. Get over yourself, if you think it makes your e-peen more impressive

Raid buffs have been compressed, though, so basically, if your group isn't stacked to all get-all in 10m, you can get almost all the buffs if people talent right, bring scrolls and drums, and currently a shaman. Biggest difference is probably both mage buffs and Dark Intent, possibly...

It would be a lot better if Blizzard just picked one single raid size and stuck with it and just made us all "deal" with it. That size could be 10, 15, or 20. Just pick one and stick with it. That would really solve all the problems with 10 vs 25 if it was just a decision we never had to make.

The lovely Lissanna has it 10% right. Pick one size and stick with it. Somewhere between 10 and 20 would be right, although in my experience 20 is still too big, so I'd prefer either 10 or 15.
