WoW Moviewatch: Soulbound

The typography flows beautifully. TauriMovies captured this concept, fed it some grub, and made it his own. While I'm not sure how well the vocal performance works outside the context of its original track, the overall effect of Soulbound is pretty fun. You need to make allowance for personal music tastes, of course, but I think the end result is pretty awesome.

Another video about how they are the greatest to play the game and the rest of the community should be in awe of their greatness, it's alway refreshing when a group steps outside the box and tries something new.

I believe the reason for showing off this video wasn't the Gigi song, but the typography - which is pretty well made :)

I saw the name 'Soulbound' and kind of hoped it would be a WoW-ified version of 'Blood Bound' by Hammerfall.
Then I saw it was a gigi song.
Disappoint.

Because 90% of her song/videos are about how her and her friends "pwn" everyone in PVP. Add in autotune, and after multiple songs, you get the dislike.

I like some Druid Boys stuff and old Decision... And they're really typical belf pvp rap too (maybe because they invented the genre?).
The problem with Gigi is that she has an awful voice for any of the singing she attempts and no flow what so ever in her raps. Her verses' lyrics are a huge downgrade from the other people in her features. "Tap kills, kills I tap" in a song where even Nyhm manages to compete with the new kids?
I could just ignore her if she wasn't in otherwise good songs. It's so annoying to skip the 30 seconds in Achievement Whore where she attempts to moan a bridge.
Also: I really hate when people, men or women, are shoved in my face as attractive when they clearly aren't. A quick glance at the pics leaked of her will show that she would not be considered anything more than gross if she didn't play WoW. She shouldn't be graded on a curve because she's a well known (as an determent to the WoW music scene).

I did like the typography. I actually liked the rap a bit too, though, the typography might have had something to do with it as it just seemed to make it flow so smoothly. Didn't care for the group singing at the end. Seemed out of place. Oddly, I found myself waiting for more before I knew it had ended.
While rap and shameless self promotion isn't my thing, I felt it worked for this. Nice video. :D

Seems like every time moviewatch posts one of these belf rap/gigi videos, there's someone who trots out this line. It never gets any more sophisticated, because I can literally copy-paste myself from almost a year ago and still demonstrate exactly how broken this reasoning is:

there are a lot better PvP hunters out there.
I'll admit I used to like Jaja(GigI's) songs but I haven't heard a good one since Emerald Dream, now her stuff sounds like any other bad rap song on the radio, and they all sound about the same. I honestly blame her man for lack of originality. Give me Emberislote or Sharm any day.

Demineon and I are the father's of this shit anyways. so don't get mad at gigi or anyone else everytime they do a song that's about owning people. as long as people request this type of music we will continue to give it to them. for you people leaving these comments like blah blah there she goes again bragging again... bleh... blame me. i motivate everyone around me to do them in music. it's free expression. and anybody that has a problem with people bragging about what they do in a video game should get over theirselves. it's not like we're like this off the game. it's just music. stop being so jelly.

I liked "Achievement Whore" that she was in...she is definitely a cute girl, but I couldn't listen to more than the first few seconds of this. Maybe it's better with the sound off.

It's always disappointing to see and hear that people judge an entire song based on an artist in it WITHOUT LISTENING. Some will claim they've heard her in the past and didn't like, so they skip... other people haven't heard Gigi before, but read the comments and decide to skip it too.
No no, don't give it a chance or anything.
This song had solid flow. It was easy to follow and understand. Yes, it's about pwning noobs- OH NOES! In WoW, that's just kinda the way things go. Would you really jam and sing along to a song about leveling cooking. "Awww yeah, I'm level 52! Gonna farm some more to make more stew! I'm better than you and you know it's true, all you baddie noobs, whacha gonna do? Ooooo!"
It's the same reason why a lot of pop songs are about being popular in clubs- it's not 100% because the artist has an ego, it's also because that's what people want to sing about too. When you sing along to a song, you're pretending for a minute that you're also that person.
And in WoW, you'd wanna be that person who's got million, billion, trillion stacks of HKs.
So yeah. I liked this.
And I think that if you dislike this, perhaps you could comment about what you would change... be helpful and stuff. I know you get annoyed when you hear another Gigi fan say, "Why don't you do better?" because we say that a lot. But have you ever thought that maybe we feel the same when you say, "Disliked 'cause it's Gigi"? 'Cause you say that a lot too.
