Breakfast Topic: Do you put WoW on display?

I'm not really hugely vocal about the games I play. I don't really talk about them to my friends outside of work or the game itself. I don't have any tattoos or T-shirts that I wear around in public. The only real concession to my Warcraft obsession is my car, really. I love my car, and I love putting things in my car, whether it's the unobtrusive Harry Potter sticker on the back, the dinosaur on my dash as a subtle nod to Firefly, or the small Horde decal in the back window. I also have a Warcraft license plate frame that looks much nicer than the dealer frame that came with the car.
Most people don't really give the items in my car a second glance, but I always know when there's a Warcraft player behind me at the Starbucks drive-through line -- I'll get a glimpse of an excited driver behind me throwing the horns or expressing their delight with my vehicle in one way or another. Now, I'd never go so far as to order a custom license plate, but I don't mind my unobtrusive decal and plate frame -- it's a subtle way of expressing my delight in the game that I play.
Do you openly display your Warcraft pride? Do you wear T-shirts, have a tattoo, or cover your car with stickers? Do you have a custom license plate or a set of Warcraft jewelry that you wear all the time? Or do you keep quiet about your gaming obsession, content to simply play at home and be happy about it?
While you're pondering that, take a look at this old gallery of custom Warcraft plates. I'll be over here, quietly wondering if there's somewhere I can nab a Skyrim decal for the other side of my car's back window.

My Horde hat from J!nx. I wear it (almost) every time I walk out the door.

I've got an Alliance decal on the back of my car (and my dad has a Horde one), plus a Teldrassil Nightsabers shirt (that's unfortunately shrunk a tiny bit in the wash so I don't like to wear it without a jacket or something; curse you, women's fit shirts).
And if I can get a vanity plate for my car in the future, I want it to say 'FRL DRD'. :I

I am a bit like Revnah... at my age, I really don't care what people think. If someone is open-minded and willing to listen, I might share some stories about how much fun playing the game with others is, what I love about the game etc.
However, I can totally understand why some might be worried about openly admitting they play in certain situations.
Because, yes, you shouldn't have to care about other peoples opinion, but sometimes, you do. In a job interview, there ofc might be the chance that the guy you talk to plays as well, but there is a big chance that all he knows about the game is the bad headlines the game got over the years. Sure, those were blown out of proportion, not really fair etc.
Still, they stick better to someones memory than, say, a story of how much fun it it to play WOW with other people etc...those wonderful stories you often hear here.
Sure, you could go "Well, if someone is that close-minded, I won't deal with them", but sometimes you have to. And I don't know if there always is a chance to explain the background, to try to convince someone his or her opinion abotu the game is biased or distorted by the WOW-player-jokes online and the headlines about someone losing his/her job and spouse because of a game-addiction.
Yes, I don't have a problem telling people, but I can understand that sometimes, you wanna hold back that info, because sometimes you might have to deal with people who are prejudiced about the game, based on the stories and rumors they heard.
We all know the "you never get a second chance to make a first impression" saying... sure, if you get a chance to explain what the game is like for you, that only a very small percentage of the millions of players had that bad stuff happening etc, and if you get a chance to show them you're not some crazed game-addict, that's great, but you don't always get that chance, and sometimes you might have to deal with someone who WILL have a bad impression of you if you mention the game.
Just my opinion though =)

I'm wearing my "More Dots" shirt right now, actually.
I also have a "For The Horde" hoodie and a Horde hat.

My own WoW-themed license plate.

No, mostly because:
- There's a scarcity of WoW-related material for sale in my country, and importing anything would be just too expensive. And I'm not going to make something presentable myself, at least not soon; there are other items upper on my crafting to-do list.
- I don't care about Horde or Alliance, but I actively dislike the way Blizzard attempts to instill faction pride in players. For me to show any piece of WoW paraphernalia, it would need to be faction-neutral.

How do you submit a photo to this gallery?

I rock a fat horde sticker on my truck. Not just anyone will recognize it but those who do know how cool it is lol.

Even though I quit, I still wear my Horde cap every day.

I have "DRAENEI" as my license plate (custom plates are super cheap in my state) and I very rarely get noticed. I've had two notes left on my car (one "For the Horde!" and one "ohai."), been asked what I play by a driver in the next lane once, and had a young lady pull over to help me out one day when I had the hood up and make a joke about attacking while I was dismounted. I've had the plates about five years.
I noticed more people moving their lips as they read my "Wanted: $10,000 reward - Shroedinger's Cat - Dead and Alive" bumper sticker than I do notice them trying to figure out my plate.

I do occasionally wear my Arcane Brilliance baseball hat on exam days. This genuine 'thinking cap' is certain to give you an intellect buff and up your correct answer throughput.

I have an Arcane Intellect cap, which is about as far as I'd go advertising my WoW pride. It's immediately recognizable to anybody who plays, and curious but easily-forgotten to anybody who doesn't. Faction logos are best left alone, since I have family on the other side.

For now, the extent of my WoW gear is a mousepad and a poster. I've got the Undercity mug and either the DK legendary class t-shirt or the hoodie on my wishlist, and I plan to get the insignia of the Knights of the Ebon Blade tattooed on my shoulder, so in time I'll be recognizable by other players.
I'm pretty open about it as it is. I've got no reason to hide it, and the only negative comments have been from one former friend who's of the snobby-nerd variety, and seeing as he both won't stop bashing it when asked nicely and has been a bad friend in other ways, I see no reason to stop being open about it just because he thinks it's not cool.

Everyone knows I play WoW. I proudly wear all my geeky Jinx t-shirts, we have a Horde decal on the back of our vehicle, WoW flags and figurines and posters all over the house. I've never been ashamed of playing it.

I'm likely to have Horde decals on any car I own. Since I live with fellow WoW players, we definitely have various WoW things around- stuffed animals, books, decorations, and so on. It's pretty awesome.
