Blizzard Entertainment -- World of Warcraft Patch 4.3.2
Table of Contents
- Classes
- Dungeons and Raids
- Items
- User Interface
Classes: General
- Vengeance is no longer triggered by receiving damage from other players.
Druids
- The Tier 13 Balance Druid 4-piece bonus now also increases the damage of Starsurge by 10%, in addition to its current effect.
Hunters
- Aspect of the Hawk now grants roughly 35% more attack power.
- Deterrence now also reduces damage taken by 30% while active.
- Black Arrow now ticks every 2 seconds for 20 seconds, as opposed to every 3 seconds for 15 seconds. The total damage dealt by the ability is unchanged.
- Lock and Load no longer benefits Arcane Shot, nor is it consumed by Arcane Shot.
Mages
- Fireball damage has been reduced by roughly 6%.
- Pyroblast initial damage has been reduced by roughly 6%. Damage over time is unchanged.
Paladins
- Holy Radiance now costs 40% of base mana, up from 35%.
Priests
- Mass Dispel should again prefer dispelling targets that have magic effects that can be dispelled.
Rogues
- Adrenaline Rush no longer triggers a global cooldown.
Dungeons & Raids
- You can now form same-faction raids with Real ID friends, allowing you to enter Raid Finder in groups larger than 5, run older normal or heroic raids, or participate in Battlegrounds. You will not yet be able to run normal or heroic Dragon Soul with cross-realm raids of Real ID friends.
- Several typo fixes and clarified descriptions have been added to the Dungeon Journal entries for Dragon Soul.
- Players can no longer win multiple copies of the same item on a single Raid Finder boss kill. For example, a player who chooses Need on two set piece tokens or two weapons and wins the first, will not be eligible for the second on that particular boss.
-
Baradin Hold
- The roaming Eyes of Occu'thar have been replaced by hateful creatures who serve Alizabal.
-
Dragon Soul
-
Yor'sahj the Unsleeping
- The Shaman spell Unleash Life now properly only triggers Deep Corruption on its target. Previously, this affected both the caster and the target.
-
Warmaster Blackhorn
- The visual warning for Twilight Elites' Blade Rush should be easier to see.
-
Spine of Deathwing
- Burning Tendons health has been reduced by 15% in 10- and 25-player Heroic mode. This change eases the burst damage requirement to complete the encounter, which should allow players to make use of more varied raid compositions.
-
Madness of Deathwing
- The Priest spell Leap of Faith is no longer usable while under the effect of Carrying Winds.
-
Yor'sahj the Unsleeping
Items
- Vial of Shadows damage (Lightning Strike) has been reduced to approximately one-third of previous damage. However, it will now trigger approximately 3 times as often. This is intended to keep overall DPS the same while reducing burst damage, especially in PvP.
- Maw of the Dragonlord can now have its effect triggered by healing from Holy Word: Sanctuary.
User Interface
- Fixed a bug that caused the Mature Language Filter to reset on exit.
- A notice is now displayed 15 minutes prior to the player being disconnected by parental controls.

@Moeru
That's a bad attitude and trolling. It's a legitimate problem. It's probably something they'll fix in the Mists release... they've admitted the current loot system is not refined yet. No reason you should be able to roll on gear you already have (especially if you already have an offspec, too!)
AngelGabriel Jan 31st 2012 10:40AM
There's nothing wrong with somebody winning a tier token for their off-set. I queue as a holy paladin. Do you really want me to queue as a ret, just so I can win a chest token when healers are the most in-demand role? By queuing as holy, it makes my queue AND YOURS faster.
Mike Jan 31st 2012 10:40AM
@Moeru
Well that was inane. The Raid Finder has a target audience, and they're not all "bad." Even though I stick to my normal modes, the compassionate part of me is offended by your attitude. >.

"...I've lost plenty of set pieces already to people wearing better gear..."
To play devil's advocate here, I completely agree that it sucks when you lose a roll on a piece of gear to someone who is already wearing it. But there are limited cases where losing to someone wearing something "better" is justifiable. E.g. last time I went on Raid Finder I won the roll for the tier head token. At that time I was wearing the head piece you buy for VP (ilvl 397), which is *better*, when compared 1 to 1 with the 384 tier head piece. HOWEVER, I was also only in possession of 1 other tier piece, the shoulders, so switching the "better" head piece for the tier piece enabled the 2p tier bonus, and was actually an upgrade for me.
I did get a lot of QQ from the raid for it anyway.

At least seeing 2 tokens drop it'll actually give me a shot at one of em and not hope that the person that should win both will be nice about one and give it to either the second highest roller or something. Two tokens, two winners every time, its a step in the right direction.
"bad player" and "person who needs on everything cause there happens to be a need button, and has lucky rolls" are two different types of person.
obmulap66 Jan 31st 2012 11:16AM
or worse, the ones who win it after already having it and immediate try to trade it during the raid for another pieces token
Noyou Jan 31st 2012 11:28AM
I really hope they implement a system where you just run a dungeon or raid X amount of times and after that amount of time you are fully geared for the next tier. Just take all the RNG out of the equation and leave it for vanity items.
kaminari Jan 31st 2012 11:38AM
@angel, yes you should be able to roll need on off-spec pieces, just not roll need+ on them, to roll on a tier piece for offspec would be the same as rolling on a defense ring as holy.
Indeed it does your Queue a lot faster, but if I lose a piece to an off-spec roll it makes my queue not faster but pointless.
TimR Jan 31st 2012 12:43PM
Rolling for loot will gradually be refined, but I seriously doubt there will ever be a change that eliminates your ability to roll based on what you are wearing. You could too easily game the system, it's not worth spending the time developing.

@ AngelGabriel
Yes, there is something wrong with rolling for your offspec. If you came as healer you get bonus rolls for heal loot. Other classes do not get bonus rolls for your heal loot. But when tier tokens drop, you also get bonus rolls for your offspec loot too. This causes a problem for someone rolling for main spec. The game cannot differentiate the roll bonus for tier tokens. So hypothetically you may be able to strut around in your offspec ret gear for lols in soloing your dailies, but you do not raid with it. The pally tank who you beat out, however, would very much use the pants you took from him/her while raiding. Making YOUR job easier, and contributes to the success of the GROUP.
Twill Jan 31st 2012 1:12PM
I understand where you're coming from, but if you EVER yell at a healer or tank for taking tier / whatever when they're able to with a need roll, then good luck getting groups.
I like doing DPS. I like healing. I like tanking. I DO NOT like healing every single time I'm in LFR DS. BUT -- We get groups faster! (And it's not just ME who gets the faster group, it's all of the 24 other people too.)
But I still DPS in my main raid. So I want DPS gear, without being a dick about it. This means I'm needing everything, and letting roll bonuses decide. As it should be. (Granted the roll bonuses shouldn't stretch quite as much as they do, but that's NOT a part of this argument).
splanders Jan 31st 2012 1:45PM
I think rolling for offspec tokens completely fine. I think the only two remaining issues with LFR loot (and probably the hardest to fix) would be people needing items that they already have to help a friend win something, or, even worse, rolling on an item they already have in the hopes that they can use it to barter for an item that they actually need but don't win later on in the run. Making all LFR loot unique could possibly help, but the tokens would be a little trickier to fix in that regard.
Cambro Jan 31st 2012 3:17PM
@angelgabriel
No, it is not acceptable for you to roll NEED for your OFFSPEC. There are people that queued for their main spec (your offspec). It's unfair to them to roll against them, especially if you happen to have a roll bonus for your roll. I go as dps, and I roll need on dps gear and greed on tank gear. I don't feel it's right to roll need on tank gear unless I actually queue as tank.
Kittens Feb 1st 2012 11:51AM
One thing I'd love to see fixed is role bonuses actually being decided by the spec people are in, instead of the role they selected. Plenty of times I find my healer in LFR as one of the only 3-4 people actually healing.. while the other 'healers' are happily topping the dps charts. And it's sad to see them then win the healer weapon with role bonus over the healers that actually did what they signed up for.
Another thing would be to define some loot a little better: for example the healing shield that drops from Warmaster. The shield is not restricted by role, but by class (only paladins and shamans). Last time I was there, I saw it being won with role bonus by a ret pally, who had a prot offspec... he then continued to be a dick about it :/

Is there an ETA for the 64 bit client? It was being tested on the 4.3.2 PTR, but I haven't heard anything since.
Artx61 Jan 31st 2012 10:21AM
all i want is the 64bit client
xrarndx Jan 31st 2012 10:21AM
Thank god for the multi-token-winner fix.
I hate it when a rogue needs both of the tokens and wins both of them. I need both as well but always give away / bargain (for a different token piece) the second one if I win it - so many other people don't and decide to just vendor it for 5g, which really aggravates me. As for weapons though, I'm not too sure about that. What about 1 handed weapons and duel-wielders? 3 times I've been in the dungeon finder i've seen 2 of the rogue weapons drop with only 1 rogue in the group - does that mean that second weapon just gets greed / disenchant rolled? 2 handers I can understand, even if it pains my fury warrior to say so, but 1hander-double-drops should probably be left alone. I'll cry if I see the rogue wep get disenchanted because the rogue couldn't roll on both.

When I say "Dungeon finder" I mean "raid finder"...
