Hmm, that's an interesting point. My case is different though: My main has an iLevel of 397 and counting, my alts - those I bother gearing and who aren't just there for their professions - are around 10 levels below that. With raid finder as the highest tier available to them, plus 397 VP gear, they will never catch up to my main who has already started on heroics. So, there's still a healthy difference in my opinion.

Not saying your point isn't valid or anything, I'm just seeing it differently :-)
