When I level my alts I cap my JP and honor before hitting 85, send VP boes over from other 85s and do the firelands intro quests and elemental bonds and can generally just jump into hour of twilight heroics. If I have a bit of time on my hands I can do my 7 HoT heroics for the week and be set up for raid finder next week.
