I'm in the same boat on my new Prot Pally. The old Cata heroics are still pretty brutal on a squishy, undergeared tank and most groups just don't have the patience anymore for someone that's still sporting 333's and quest greens. As it is, I'm trying to deck her out in enough BoE drops and crafted items to skim past the 353 ilvl requirement to enter the much easier HoT heroics.

It'd be a much different story if she was Ret, but I can't stand the current iteration of the spec.
