Mists of Pandaria news coming in March with press sneak peek

As Nethaera posted, information is coming, and we now have a date. This feels like Blizzard's taking a page from the Apple book. Pressers and hype events like these work incredibly well for a company like Blizzard that is very much an Apple of its industry. By calling its own press conferences, conventions, and press trips rather than announcing information amongst the rest of the gaming industry at conventions like PAX, the message is much more focused and clear -- the cacophony is removed. I'm excited to know when new information will be available. Of course, I'd rather have the information, but a day to hope for is better than nothing. It's gonna get busy in March.
Mists of Pandaria information coming in March
Quote:
Is there going to be any updates coming in the next 10 months in the way of MOP articles or anything like that?
Any dev interviews or previews or videos or anything?
Or is there perhaps a big content patch on the way soon?
My sub is about to expire and I just want to know if theres any new articles coming to the site or content coming to the game - or if I should just let my sub expire until the next expansion.
Thanks for your time.

Yes. (Information wise.) We have more planned for the near future in regard to Mists of Pandaria information. We are in the process of contacting media about an event we have planned for March. We posted the following on Facebook-
A Break in the Mists: Alert the Press!
Since the announcement of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria at BlizzCon 2011, we've been hard at work on all of the new game features, environments, dungeons, and other content that awaits adventurers. Today, we're inviting members of the press worldwide to get an updated sneak peek and some hands-on time with the latest version of World of Warcraft's fourth expansion at an event taking place March 13 - 15.
If you want to know more about what lies hidden within the mists of Pandaria, wait for the season's end....
You can bet that there will be plenty of coverage by the media and fansites plus we'll also have our own releases we are planning to do as well that will get everyone more in the know of our plans and development of Mists of Pandaria.
*Updated to make it clear that the "Yes" is in reference to more information being on its way in regard to Mists of Pandaria.
World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria is the next expansion, raising the level cap to 90, introducing a brand new talent system, and bringing forth the long-lost pandaren race to both Horde and Alliance. Check out the trailer and follow us for all the latest MoP news!

You're drastically overestimating your numbers.

Why would Blizz be afraid of losing WoW subs to Diablo? They're both Blizzard products. That makes no sense, especially with D3's real-money AH.
lifebinder Feb 1st 2012 9:27PM
Because subscriptions are a guaranteed source of income, whereas the RMAH is completely optional.
Put another way, the base price of Diablo will be between $50 and $60, one time. Assume who ever purchases this never uses the RMAH.That same player could be playing WoW instead, netting Blizzard $15 a month, or $180 a year! That's 3 copies of Diablo right there!
If Diablo takes off, people who sub might decide Diablo's their game of choice instead, severely cramping Blizzard's profit margin.

...Why would Blizzard lose subscriptions to Diablo? With the Annual Pass, they're GAINING subscriptions from people who want Diablo and are willing to pay a bit extra for a year of WoW.

>Why would Blizz be afraid of losing WoW subs to Diablo?
If they weren't afriad of losing subs to Diablo, why did they offer Diablo free if you subbed to a year of wow?
> With the Annual Pass, they're GAINING subscriptions from people who want Diablo and are willing to pay a bit extra for a year of WoW.
Technically, you're paying the same thing as a full year sub to WoW. And not everyone signed up for the Annual Pass.

I just want to say I pointed out this story in the que this morning :D. I beat you guys to news for once, yay me!
I do think this bodes well for Beta near my birthday (April 1st) and the release being the end of summer/beginning of fall. Not December, at any rate.

So, who at WoW Insider got their golden ticket to this press thingy?
Don Feb 1st 2012 11:07PM
So they need 3 days with the press to show it off?
Teresa Feb 1st 2012 11:07PM
Id rather get little bites over the weeks, than wait an extra 2 months for a big chunk of information, after already waiting 5.
I want cataclysm to be OOOVER already. Id even settle for the damn class changes in a new patch, cus I already know Dragon soul will last a looong time.

if they have enough done to show it off to the press and let them have hands on time with it, I'm guessing April for Beta and sept-oct launch.
techno-warrior6 Feb 2nd 2012 3:08AM
Calling it now. Their showing us pandaria femals
Noyou Feb 2nd 2012 3:56AM
I hope you are right. Worgen females weren't even out for the Beta, if I remember correctly. When they did come out they were buggy as all get-out.
renehillege Feb 2nd 2012 4:25AM
I will just sit here and wait paitently...

I need to dig up my comment where I predicted the next time we'd have more info regarding the expansion would be in March!
New info in March, Public Beta beginning in May, Expansion release August/September.
I think I'll let my sub expire at the end of this month and just wait until the release. Pretty bored as it is. Logged on for the first time in a week last night and straight away wanted to log off and play SWTOR.
Here's hoping the info in March is a lot more exciting than the first announcement!

Well there is a superbowl spot for Mists of Pandaria (not really!)

Anyone else regretting their year's subscription to WoW at this point? Blizz are taking their sweet time to release content, and what we currently have is no where near enough to keep me entertained... *grumbles off and plays ToR*

anyone know what press means for this. Would love to report for my youtube channel :)
