@clundgrenI was specifically addressing Nina's post about adds in heroic Yor'sahj. I would certainly not recommend that for blistering tentacles. Consecration, while a mana hog, at least ekes out a little more dps (no matter if single target or AoE) and you can recover lost mana fine with a couple of Judgements. The sad fact is we have a lot of gaps in our rotation that there's almost always time for one of the lower priority items. Given that AoE's purpose is something that damages ALL targets, our only real options are SoR + Cons, DS, and HW (note I put that last). HW may divide the damage between all targets, but it HITS all targets and that's the value of it.I don't claim to be an expert, but my ret pally is pretty consistently near the top of the charts for DPS, so take it for what it's worth I guess.

The only point of switching to an AoE rotation is to take adds down faster by increasing your effective dps against them. Using holy wrath ahead of any other ability will actually make them die slower, which is why EJ puts it last in the AoE rotation. Consecration is also very low damage; sure, you hit more guys, but to little effect, which is why it is second-last.Divine Storm and seal of righteousness really are the be-all and end-all of our AoE dps and, as EJ again points out, using righteousness has to be weighed against the dps loss from seal switching back and forth. In the vast majority of situations, our AoE rotation simply consists of substituting DS for CS, and remembering not to waste Zealotry while doing so.For Yor'Sahj's black phase, I don't switch seals because there is no break in which I can do so without giving up 2 GCDs, and I don't think the adds live long enough to justify the switch, but I have to admit I haven't mathed it out. I may be wrong.

I didn't really write my first posts with complete priority in mind, and that was probably my biggest mistake. :) Perhaps a more detailed rotation would be:DS, Judge, DS, Cons, DS, HW/Exo/Inq/whatever, DS, Judge, etc.Now you've piqued my interest! I want to find out exactly how long an add phase must last, vs. how many adds there would need to be, to determine if/when SoR results in an increase of DPS over SoT. Sounds like a trip to Elitist Jerks for me.
