I tend to take the stance that I don't care what you call ME - most of the slurs for women I will stand up and own them, and the ones I won't I will correct you without missing a beat.I am not all women. I am not all of my race, my sexuality, my religion. I am not all of humanity, if someone turns around and calls someone else the same words they called me and that person is offended, not only is it their right to be offended but I will damn well stand up for their right to not be called those things, regardless of whether anyone believes there really is such a right. I also believe I don't have the right to dictate what offends people, and neither does anyone else. It's not so much about whether a word should be offensive as it is about respecting people, and that includes not passing off their taking offense as them needing a thicker skin without taking a second thought as to WHY they're offended.
