Breakfast Topic: What's your game?

We all have our "thing" in WoW, our thing that we focus on, the main aim of our gaming. For a while, mine was raiding -- never front-line, realm-first (or similar) progression raiding, but clearing raid content in a timely manner so we didn't feel totally behind the curve, getting a significant number of bosses down before a nerf or the like, staying in the top 50 guilds on our server.
Then I became slowly infected with the PvP bug. Raiding and PvE started to matter less and less, and while I do still participate in guild raids, it's not my thing any more. I haven't really even been that bothered by the Raid Finder -- I prefer to see content with my guild and not spoil the surprise of fights. But really, that's an excuse -- I just don't find raiding as enthralling as I used to. PvP is my thing now.
I do have a few alts I'm leveling too, of course, but for me leveling is a chore that must be done to get to Arena levels (70, 80) and max level. It's a great way to learn, and I try to level in the spec I want to play in Arena. The enjoyment of leveling is not in the doing of it but in the end result. Leveling itself isn't my focus.
I put things on the Auction House occasionally and ineptly when I'm out of funds. I only ever get achievements by accident, with a few exceptions. And roleplaying? It's a complete mystery to me, much as I find it fascinating.
How about you? What's your game? Now, I've inevitably missed a huge amount of options in the poll below, so feel free to tell me about my failure in the comments and try to pick the closest option!

I love leveling. Although, I find it somewhat ironic that the lack of social interaction with people on my server through Dungeon Finder and Dungeon Finder itself introducing me to exactly the people I don't want to meet in WoW. Is causing me to favour leveling which in itself is quite a solitary (Well I say solitary, I always duo with my wife) pastime.

I bet most folks would like to click more than one of the options listed on the poll.

This -
I'd pick PVE: Raiding, then AH, then leveling alts.
I also like achievements and PVP, but they're much lower on my personal agenda...

Same here, I'd tick Professions in addition to Playing the AH. My professions are the key to my Auctioneering.
Also, I see the Auction House as just another PVP arena...
Caz Feb 2nd 2012 12:57PM
Yes, exactly. I do ALL of the things on that list except RBG.

Indeed. I roll alts, level them to max, gear them up through 5 mans, run them through the raid finder at least once, then go do the same on another alt, all the while engaging in a bit of auction house action.

Depends on the character, honestly.
I raid very diligently on one character--two to three nights a week (and about to start pushing Hard-Modes, woo~). That said, when I'm not raiding I spend my free time on another character and realm PvPing (and while we mostly World PvP, we do have dedicated Arena and RBG nights). I honestly don't RP too much after I closed off my last few stories, due to simply how busy I am now, and honestly I'd like to make room for it, but there just aren't enough hours in the day anymore.

Mostly PVE 5-mans. I've recently started leveling alts through the dungeon finder, which I've never done before, so I've seen a huge amount of content I never saw leveling my main. I dabble in PVP (Tol Barad/Wintergrasp mostly) but I'm not really geared yet for consistent battleground runs. Never gotten into raiding, I'm even hesitant to try LFR.

Pretty much all of the above, with the exception of Roleplaying, frankly... ^^

I'm anti-social in real life as well as in the game. I enjoy being on my own. I've tried playing in guilds and such, but that's just not for me. I want to do what I want, when I want and not have to be bogged down by raids and things like that. The whole PVP thing just doesn't do anything for me. I'd rather spend my time leveling my professions and playing the AH. It might not sound too exciting to some, but for me that's all I need. I will queue for the occasional battleground or instance when I want something different though.

I would have like to have seen the raiding split into the two different sizes and normal vs heroic. I'm curious too how many guilds still do 25...
granted it would show what we already know and that very little people see the heroic content.
If i had to guess at a breakdown with a 35% total:
10-normal : 30%
25-normal: 4%
10-heroic: 0.9%
25-heroic: 0.1%
DaSandman Feb 2nd 2012 11:57AM
Legit question - is the 35% figure reasonable? Too high? If 35% of the WoW population actively raid thats like 3.5 million people (to use round even number).

Other: Transmog gear hunting. To the ends of the earth go I for that low level green
Ikatsu Feb 2nd 2012 8:52AM
I like to see the game and enjoy it.
I like to absorb content, like a sponge.
I have 10 characters, raid on some, pvp on others, RP on others, do AH on others... All casually.
I play every class, 9 alliance and 1 horde because I want to see everything and enjoy the game I pay 15 bucks monthly for.
ladygamertn Feb 2nd 2012 2:41PM
This, minus the PvP.
Jere Hunter Feb 2nd 2012 8:59AM
PVE , max lvl Dun, Raid Finder, Guild 10 or 25 (if we can pull them together) and Cheevo's man, the Cheevos

I'm a hopeless altoholic before anything else. I run bgs, heroics, and lfr and used to be the MT for the #1 raid guild on the server, but I always get sucked back into the process of starting from scratch and powering up. I have 18 85s with 2 more toons at 80 (aiming to have 2 of each class). I know that sounds a little crazy, but after leveling a few toons it gets much, much faster. Most of my 85s only have 4.5-5.5 days of /played. The big exception is my main - my first toon ever - which has an obscene amount of /played time, suffice it to say that it constitutes almost 2/3 of my total play time.

Hi, I'm Mr. T and I'm a Night Elf mohawk. What's your game?
Asrealion Feb 2nd 2012 9:07AM
My 85 main solos old content for achievements and reputations, he collects mounts and pets and does random questing (dailies as well as low level new quests). Occasionally he might do a level-appropriate dungeon through LFD or the guild.
Besides that I'm leveling a handful of other toons.
stereoblind Feb 2nd 2012 9:08AM
Depends. I love leveling alts to try out different classes (I recently made my first tank/horde toon and I am loving it coming from just pure DPS classes) but I really just like to try everything. I started playing October 2011 and just recently did my first raid on my Mage via LFR and kinda hated it. The idea of a dedicated team really intrigues me but unfortunately my guild doesn't have many dedicated 85's.
I'm sure I'll get burned out on something eventually and get into PVP but for right now I'm still in love with all things PVE pretty much.
