Convoluted idea inc.
I've long thought that Blizz should 'break' recount in much the same way they 'broke' gearscore. Not by actually disabling it, but by offering something else.
I think it's time to ad a point system to the LFD. Maybe just a tally/number next to each individual's name or healthbar. You earn a point for each killing blow, dispell, interrupt, or Cc that last longer than 5 seconds. The points are on display for all to see, and at the end of the run are added up and distributed evenly amongst the group as extra JP, or VP, or even gold. Maybe you need a conversion if you go with extra points, 2 points per Vp or whatever, but that's just fine tuning.
People are going wave their epeens about in any way they can, at least give them motivation to wave about that they are playing in the proper manner. The points are redistributed so one person cannot gear up twice as fast as the others, and to promote that everyone is indeed working as a group. And if you ARE that excellent player, in the long haul you'll gear up a little bit faster. Everyone wins.
Although i'm sure there are countless problems with this plan, overall it at least will teach people what is expected of them(can you imagine DPSers competing for the most interupts in a random? Oh, it melts my stonecold black charcoal tanking heart into something kind of glowy and resembling life!). Hell, maybe someday, you can even ramp up the difficulty of dungeons again without the major fallout we saw last time.
But whatever, I'm rambling, just an idea I've been messing around with for awhile.

I would love to see a score given by players for other players like reddits up and down voting. Or an addon that you could do this with. Or a website. Or both.
It's much more pleasant to play and wipe with a bunch of nice people having fun then grind the crap out of a dungeon with people who just curse and moan about you.

The only way to break dps parsing (ie recount or ACT) is to not provide a combat log.
Since the combat log is pretty much the basis for every single online RPG ever, going all the way back to text muds, that is going to be a virtual impossibility.
Recount is like an automobile. Most people have it and use it daily, but there's a whole helluva lot of really bad drivers out there that make life hell for the rest of the driving public. Same with recount.
Also, recount and combat parsers are a big reason why a lot of us like playing wow. We're competitive by nature, and recount is our stat sheet. I truly believe breaking recount (if it were even possible) would do far, far more harm than good. Imagine my automobile example - let's take away all of them. Back to the horse and buggy, and bicycles for everyone? Might be better for the environment, but everyone's quality of life would drastically decrease.
