Darkmoon Faire achievement progress reset but will be saved in the future

January's Darkmoon Faire achievement progress status was cleared prior to the launch of February's faire. Any achievements that were started but not completed have had their criteria reset. Completed achievements are unaffected.
However, any future achievement progress (February included) will be saved to your character and will continue to contribute towards progression of those achievements in subsequent visits to Darkmoon Faire.
Regrettably, we are not able to restore any progress you may have made during January's faire. We do appreciate the impact this may have had and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I'm not sure whether or not we should be playing the Final Fantasy 7 victory theme on this one or whether we should be playing the The Price is Right losing horns. What do they do when someone plays Plinko but only gets like $200 out of it?

I noticed last month that my turn-ins didn't carry over from the previous month. I spent a fortune turning in EVERYTHING last month so that it would complete the achievements and not reset.
Micah Feb 3rd 2012 3:31PM
I'd noticed that myself as well. I'm not sweating it though, I already have at least one of each artifact waiting to be turned in next month. I thought it odd that my achievements had reset, but oh well, not like I wasn't going to be turning them in ever again.

If you spent a lot of gold on a DM book you should have completed the achieves and not have a problem, but if you dropped 15k on a quest and did not do the other/cheaper ones, then may the WoW gods have mercy on your pitiful soul.

I'm not sure if I am glad or sad that I used the one that dropped for me instead of selling it ...
Akueria Feb 3rd 2012 3:30PM
Well this sucks. I was just 1 artifact away from completing the dungeon achievement and all the artifacts.
Starlin Feb 3rd 2012 3:31PM
Wow. So my Darkmoon Despoiler got reset to zero progress because I never turned in a A Treatise on Strategy? That's... that's just..... weaksauce.
Shinae Feb 3rd 2012 3:41PM
Hey, at least you didn't spend thounds of gold to get a Treatise without completing the achievement. I feel sorry for those that did.
Shinae Feb 3rd 2012 4:11PM
...and by "thounds" I meant thousands. ;)

I just wish they'd let the profession quests to be available more than once.
lavergne.joseph Feb 3rd 2012 3:41PM
so if we have the achievement already is it still there or was it reset as well?
Gordal Feb 3rd 2012 3:48PM
I'd say that there's nothing short of a direct intention of Blizzard that can reset already achieved achievements.
Noyou Feb 3rd 2012 3:52PM
"Completed achievements are unaffected."

What about those of us who DID complete the achievements, but no longer have the achievement because we are mysteriously now missing a few items from the achievements? I would like my achievements restored, since I have already completed them.

Best thing to do is submit a ticket in-game or through the web ticket system.
egburr Feb 3rd 2012 4:44PM
I did. The response was "we are aware of the problem" and a closed ticket. Doesn't sound like they plan to do anything about it though, except make us complete the achievement again.

I'm a bad person. I've been scooping up cheapo artifacts the last couple of weeks in hopes of hitting it big on the AH. So this news pleases me.
But I did put a full set aside for my own pet/achievement needs, including the Treatise which was not cheap. :(

Dear SW:TOR:
Thank you for saving this WoW Achievement Whore from this debacle with your interesting story lines.

When I heard the quests were not completing properly last month I decided not to bother with them in Jan till they got em straightened. I was kinda bummed to be like 4 pets away from 150 and 2 reps away from 50 but it'll still be there. Now that I'm lvl 50 in SW:TOR and annoyed with dailies... *shakes fist at Ilum* I can go to to WoW to... do more dailies!
Skarn Feb 3rd 2012 4:30PM
I haven't checked in game, but the Armory says my Dungeoneer and Despoiler achievements are reset, which are the only two I haven't done (plus the Pit Fighter). The ones I've finished already are fine.
This does not bother me at all. I understand the annoyance factor, but I've already got all the artifacts sitting in my bank waiting for next week. I was turning them in for tickets anyway, the achievement will be filled out again Sunday. Except for the Treatise. So... /shrug
jfofla Feb 3rd 2012 4:45PM
Treatise is going for 18K on my server, and I have only seen one drop and lost the roll.
So I doubt I will be getting the Achievement any time soon.
