The Queue: A sudden increase in prudishness
"Finally," you're saying right now, "Sacco is back with more YouTube videos of songs he likes." Yer darn right!
Puntable asked:
I'm not sure I really want to ask this question, but here goes. Blizzard has been changing a lot of the armor models on females, such as black mageweave leggings, to cover more skin. Why the sudden increase in prudishness after 6 years?
Well, Black Mageweave Leggings haven't changed since launch. What other instances of an "increase in prudishness" can you provide? If you need evidence that Blizzard hasn't stopped putting in revealing armor for women, check out rogue season 11 gear.
pattycakes asked:
Do you think that Blizzard will ever add profession-crafted items that enhance mounts?
I'm thinking an Engineering recipe to create a horn/bell for the motorcycle/trike mount, or a Leatherworking/Tailoring recipe to create a saddle? Or perhaps a BS recipe to create armor for your mount?
Well, if we're talking actual effects, leatherworking used to have the Riding Crop, but it was removed. If you mean adding little doodads to your mounts, it's possible; Blizzard did say it wants to start offering more customization to stuff like druid armor and mounts and the like.
Eladonra asked:
Speaking of perma-bans....how many have there actually been? I remember the Martin Fury incident where the user - and I think the raid leader - were both perma-banned with the rest of the group receiving temp bans. I believe Paragon and Ensidia have received temp bans for exploits. I also know "of" someone who received a perma-ban for purchasing gold. He was a friend of my then-boyfriend. The way I was told, his account was banned at the IP level - thus making it more challenging to just start up a new account.
Account closures happen all the time in response to severe infractions of the Terms of Service. You don't tend to hear about them very much because the people who get them have been doing, well, things that are against the Terms of Service.
Lazymangaka asked:
How far in the past does the Goblin starting area take place?
It doesn't seem like it would be that long, but it would've taken time for Gallywix to build his pleasure palace in Azshara and for the Goblins to set up shop in Orgrimmar. If it's too far in the past, however, doesn't that suggest that Deathwing has been torching Azeroth for years now? And if the Goblins were able to build Gallywix his pleasure palace in just a few weeks, why haven't they been set to work on Orgrimmar yet?
Your adventures on Kezan and the Lost Isles take place during and directly after the Cataclysm. There's a necessary compression of time for goblins to already be around when you get to Orgrimmar. As for Gallywix's pleasure palace, well, you can just explain that away with "goblin priorities" -- ostentatiousness over usefulness any day of the week.

This is my new favorite euphemism.

I know you all think I'm crazy. A lot of different armor covers more skin on the front thigh area. You could say it's a bug with my graphics, but I see it on the Armory too.

Any other examples other than the Black Mageweave? Because looking at it in game on my tailor and looking at screenshots on wowhead that go back years, it looks identical.

Screenshots, dude, screenshots. /soothe

If I posted screenshots I would be in danger of going from a perv to a creepy perv. I knew I shouldn't have posted that question.
Grovinofdarkhour Feb 3rd 2012 12:27PM
While you're right, it isn't something that has specifically to do with you. I just think everybody's crazy.

I found the problem. My transmog pants were actually Wanderer's Stitched Trousers, http://www.wowhead.com/item=29928
instead of Black Mageweave Leggings,
http://www.wowhead.com/item=9999
and if you compare them on a Human Female, you can see they are the same model, with a purple color, and with more coverage on the thighs.
Tribunal Feb 3rd 2012 1:17PM
The overlays are identical, but the skins (coloring/patterns) might make it appear that the coverage is slightly different, especially depending on your character's skin tone.

What's happening is the armor pieces, if you can truly call them that, are not properly hiding underwear anymore. So uou end up with pieces that have low-cut tops still showing the brastraps, and the, shall we say "more cheeky" leggings not being as cheeky. It applies to the mails as well, and looks very funky having your boxers sticking out from behind your loincloth.
The exact effect of course varies from race to race as some wear skimpier skivvies than others.

The amount of analyzing into this issue is amazing.
Zapwidget Feb 3rd 2012 4:13PM
BTW, WTB edit button. If your postage is wearing boxers and a loincloth, you might be spending too much time playing WoW.
Jeff (Not that one ^ ) Feb 3rd 2012 5:10PM
A friend insists that many armor pieces have been altered to "fit" the Worgen female model, thus changing their appearance on other models. I generally don't care about the crotchcovers on character models, so I haven't looked too closely at it.

I'm just annoyed that I still can't find a good chainmail bikini for my male Tauren.

Q for the Queue:
My main is a resto druid. Lifebloom triggers Replenishment and I keep a stack of Lifebloom on a tank for, ideally, the whole fight. Last night I was in Raid Finder and noticed that Replenishment kept falling off. I would refresh Lifebloom just to make sure, but Replenishment didn't return until some other moment: a moment when I was not casting or refreshing Lifebloom. I'm wondering, is there a priority system that another character is the trigger for Replenishment? With my style of healing, Replenishment should be up the whole fight, but I regularly saw it fall off and was not refreshed at the moment I would have expected.
metafarm Feb 3rd 2012 11:42AM
http://www.wowpedia.org/Replenishment
It gives 10 party or raid members (with the lowest mana left) 1% of their maximum mana every 10 second for 15 seconds, or 1.5% over the full duration. Each time it is triggered, the 10 most needy members are recalculated, and those people either receive the buff, or have it refreshed on them.
Ellyon Feb 3rd 2012 12:20PM
Thanks! That explains why I always see it in my 10 man guild runs, but it's sporadic in a 25.
ramsayroderick Feb 3rd 2012 2:28PM
Not tryin' to be an a-hat, but I think you meant 1% per second for 15 seconds, for a total of 15%. =)
Steffan Feb 3rd 2012 3:05PM
@ram
"Replenishment
100 yd range
Replenishes 1% of maximum mana per 10 sec for 15 sec."
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=57669
That's 1% every 10 seconds. So 15/10= 1.5 If it were as you say, it'd be "1% of maximum mana per sec for 15 sec." I seriously hate how Blizzard worded this buff, it has had me confused for years.
