Breakfast Topic: Will you be finding Love in the Air?

Guys. Seriously. I can't believe more people haven't mentioned the fact that Love is in the Air this year has a holiday mount involved -- the Swift Lovebird, which can be purchased for 270 Love Tokens. Have you not heard? Bird is the word, in the form of this absolutely gorgeous pink tallstrider. Needless to say, I do not care how much running around I have to do to get all those Love Tokens, by the end of this holiday, I will be riding around on a ridiculous pink mount ... because I can.
There's a ton of other reasons to do the holiday as well, for achievements and for tons of fun items from the holiday bosses. I'll be faithfully killing the trio of Apothecaries in the hopes of getting fun prizes, provided the Apothecary Trio is still there, of course. I'm not much of a fan of Valentine's Day, but I do love fun world events. And giant pink tallstriders to ride around on. Did I mention the pink tallstrider?
Are you planning on participating in Love is in the Air? Do you still have achievements to finish for the meta? And perhaps the most important question of them all: Will you be hunting down enough tokens for the Swift Lovebird as quickly as possible, too? Its companions first for me, haven't researched them but companions then acheivements the mounts, thats the order of things!

I just got the bunch of red roses, which was the one I dreaded a bit. Got it with minimum fuss though, in an actually nice group where nobody else needed it, in SFK. Win! :-)
I also found a troll rogue in a BG to toss petals on, so after only a few hours, I think the holiday is coming along nicely!

I'm actually trying to get it on all my alts lol. Prioritizing 85s first then getting what I can on my lower level toons. It's a long, grueling process, but I'll be DAMNED if I'm going to spend 4-5k gold on something I can get for free!
Side note: ONLY ONE MOUNT FROM HAVING 100! Looks like this is going to be the month! Either getting Anne's pink strider, Darkmoon strider, the Love Rocket, or the RAF rocket. Ya I came prepared. XD

ZodiacDragons: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm pretty sure they removed the "automatic free super-epic speed" riding skill from the Pink..er..Violet... Proto-Drake at the start of Cata when they made the skill available for purchase. Before putting all that effort in (and, in my opinion, the same time and effort shoulde asily nab you more than 5-6K gold per character) I'd double check whether I'm right or not.

@Kaylad: Nope, completing, "What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been" still gives you 310% flying for free. Its even there in the rewards now, "Rewards: Violet Proto-Drake and Master Riding." Maybe you should check yourself before you post my friend, instead of assuming you're the one whose right.

I just got my 3rd Violet Proto, completing it with Lunar Fest. You certainly do get 310% flying. You have to have 280% though. Which you also have to have to use the Proto. Not sure what happens if you don't have 280% speed. But yes, free mount, free flying. Flashy achievements. I will be going for WaLSTiB on at least 1-2 more toons. Also need to focus on getting the mount for my mount collector. Yes, I am hopeless.

I meant the Toxic Wasteling that drops from the Heart Shaped Box that you get form doing the Instance run 1 time per day.

Anyone had any bugs where they lost love tokens or charms? I did a few of the dailies, then went in a dungeon and seem to have lost the tokens I collected. I opened a ticket but still waiting so just wondering if anyone else has had problems?

Was it just as the holiday started? It's possible you got into an instance to the west, where it was still the 4th...

No. But they sure ain't dropping like they did in previous years. I killed at least 100 mobs to get enough for 3 bracelets. Didn't pick up an adventurer's journal from DMF yet, so I am wondering if that will mess with it.

I have not heard (being at work today) but can u queue for the holiday boss again this year? Are the neck pieces upgraded to 378 or are they 365?

Yeah, i was more than a little disappointed to find that they're still dropping 346 blues. Considering how easy it is to get a 365, 378 or 397 neck (open up the molten front for str dps or casters, run some hour of twilight, or two weeks of heroics for a no neck) it seems pretty bizarre not to up the ilvl on these from last year.
Oh well... At least you can disenchant them.

Need it all. The pet to get to 100, another mount for the collection and if I get the achieve, I finish What A Long Strange Trip. So, to be frank, it cannot be understated how important the next seven days are for me in WoW.

*sigh* No love for me....none at all.
I usually take this 'event' as a two week break from WOW.
Some people get winter and Christmas depression....I get Valentines day depression.
I almost wish that Stormwind and Org had a 'heart free zone', preferably with a bank, and all the dailies. >_<

I thought I was the only one to experience this! Valentine's Day depresses me terribly.
Growing up, it was the loneliest day of the year. Over thirty years later, it still hurts.
