Why can't I find out anything about this Superb Owl?
dinojake15 asked:
Any word yet on MoP's system requirements?
I got a little 10.5.8 MacBook that can just barely run Cataclysm. Just wondering if I should start saving money for a new computer now.
Blizzard has been incrementally increasing WoW's system requirements with each expansion, so it's safe to assume that MoP will require even more muscle than Cataclysm did. I don't think it's been announced just how much more muscle, but if you had trouble running Cataclysm, you're going to have trouble with MoP.
Batleth asked:
Has anyone gotten any additional information about the WoW Mega Bloks line? I haven't heard anything since Blizzcon and can't seem to find any other info at all...
Mega Bloks and Lego products require a pretty insane amount of lead time, so it's going to be a while before we get more information on (or previews of) the Warcraft Mega Bloks sets. Hell, the Starcraft II Battlecruiser I got at BlizzCon has a pamphlet inside saying that the full line of Starcraft products will be revealed in spring of 2013. Not 2012; 2013.
s1natsuns3t asked:
Can anyone explains why there's a dagger only for rogues that drops off DW in addition to a dagger that drops off Hagara? WHY would any rogue want that when they get two free 397's with a quick pickpocket? It seems like it's just taking up a loot space that other classes would rather have A LOT more.
Not everyone has the gold or connections to get the legendary daggers, even the very first set of them. It's best not to just assume that all rogues will be able to get the legendaries and give them a chance to fill their gear gaps with something a little more readily available.
Ashytaka asked:
Why are we no longer allowed to requeue as a different role when someone leaves the party while using the dungeon finder?
It's to prevent gaming the system, basically; you could feasibly receive a CtA reward at the end of a dungeon for a role you didn't really fill. Not 100% sure I agree with it, mind you, but I'd be willing to bet that's the reasoning behind the change.

Q for the Q:
So far we've killed three out of five Aspects. Also, the three we've killed are all male. And they've all gone insane before we killed them. So is there something about the female Aspects that makes them less likely to go insane or will we possibly be killing Alexstrasza and Ysera in MoP?
Caden Reigns Feb 5th 2012 12:31PM
3 things:
1) even though we 'killed' murzond as soon as we kill DW that future where we killed him never happened. With DW dead Noz never goes insane.
2) Murzond was only 'crazy' cause he survived the end of the world and wanted to save it. Every time we've seen infintes it was Murzond playing the long game to prevent the final cataclysm.
3) the aspects arent really aspects anymore, they gave up the titan powers to empower the dragonsoul and kill DW. If by some wierd reason the broodleaders (cause thats what they are now) go off their rocker they wont be as powerful anymore
4) and just for kicks, Alexstrasza and Ysera have millions of fanboys that ill keep them safe from player harm
Hob Feb 5th 2012 12:32PM
It would make sense for all of the dragons to be corrupted eventually. Ysera will probably go mad from the Emerald Nightmare, and Alexstrasza will realize that intelligent races are inherently destructive to the environment and all other life forms, so they need to go.
Also, if Alexstrasza and her red dragons could fly from Wyrmrest Temple to the Wrathgate and destroy the plague and all of the plagued corpses... why couldn't she have shown up, like, two minutes earlier and killed Arthas? Or stayed and finished the job? There's definitely something up with that...

another point, maly also went nuts because of DW, so the 2.5 aspects we killed all needed killing because of the old god corruption on DW. if you want to get into why Alexstrasza and Ysera werent affected you could say it was because Ysera's been in another plain of existance for thousands of years and Alexstrasza's powers represent the polar opposite of the old gods
Caden Reigns Feb 5th 2012 12:42PM
@hob
the chance of Ysera being corrupted by the nightmare atm is slim since the nightmare was contained and imprissoned in one of the books. not saying theres no chance but she lived and fought with it for thousands of years without being corrupted so it would take something big to do it now.
As far as Alexstrasza, even if she decided not to like the mortal races anymore that doesnt change her personality. Even with not being an aspect she's still all about preserving life, going on the offensive against the races that have (mostly) been her allies would be counter-intuitive to her beliefs

Yes, clearly its a Wheel of Time reference where Males touching the ultimate source go crazy and the females do not;
Malygos, Norzdormu and Neltharion are all touching the male source reaching through the skim of corruption that is the Old Gods.

The Aspects' goals were to stay out of affairs as much as possible. Yes, they could have put a stop to multiple catastrophes before they even occurred, but that wasn't their charge. They only intervened with the Forsaken coup because that's when things stopped going according to plan.
dwbberry Feb 5th 2012 1:29PM
Alexstrasza wouldn't turn against all the mortal races she absolutely had to because Korialstrasz wouldn't have wanted her to. If his death didn't break her then I don't think the old gods have a chance if they haven't been able to turn her yet.

It's hard to judge motives for some of this stuff when it doesn't really have a lot of consistency anyway. Sure, I love the plots and stuff of WoW, but:
1) We don't know how Time Travel works. (quote dr who if you want, we don't know if that's accurate or not)
2) We don't know what the titan's actually told the aspects to do.
3) we don't know what powers the titans gave the aspects or what powers they've given up.
4) We don't know what "Old God Corruption" really is.
5) we don't know if Blizzard has a solid pre-plan for any of the above questions or if they just use whatever idea they need to at the moment.

Or perhaps the Old Gods are just like the rest of us males in that they have no idea what goes on insides a woman's head.
Adegan Feb 5th 2012 4:50PM
What makes you think Malygos was crazy? Extreme yes, but consider how many mortals are screwing around with the arcane now. That is the whole prupose he was created to prevent. Also his entire flight was being raised as undead servants to the Lich King, I think he was justifyably upset.
Travy Feb 5th 2012 6:26PM
Also it should be noted that Malygos' madness was largely a result of the fact that his flight being wiped out, so with both Maly and Noz it was heavy loss that caused them to go mad.
Arrohon Feb 5th 2012 7:11PM
Malygos was very much insane. However, we didn't kill an insane Maly. He needed to die because he REGAINED sanity. If someone from medieval times suddenly came back, they would think technology is magic, and we should all die. However, had he been immortal and lived through the change in technology, he'd realize that there's nothing inherently evil about it. If Malygos was always sane, he would've either adjusted to the increase in magic use, or limited it in a non-violent way. The majority of the Kirin Tor agreed with Malygos' reasons, but obviously didn't agree with the methods.

They are female. They go insane once a month already. Makes them resistant.
(I am so getting beat up by the wife for this.)

I did the Love is in the Air bosses this morning - and the necks that dropped were not upgraded. Is this intentional, or a bug?
Gennifurfur Feb 5th 2012 12:16PM
Intentional or an oversight. Probably not a bug.
B1ue Feb 5th 2012 12:24PM
I was not expecting them to upgrade the holday boss loot. They've seemed to have only reset the gear when they release another explansion, and at least once not even then.
Hob Feb 5th 2012 12:36PM
I seem to remember a similar issue with Ahune or Corin Direbrew after 3.3 but before 4.0. The official explanation was there's already better gear, and the expansion is coming "soon". At least the gas mask is cool for transmog (if you're a cloth wearer...)
Starlin Feb 5th 2012 12:36PM
The good news is that they are disenchantable. Enjoy an influx of Heavenly Shards into the economy.
Bapo Feb 5th 2012 1:08PM
To be fair, they were already upgraded to cata loot quality, not the greatest thing, but I'm thinking that it won't be updated to current ilvl stuff.
