At this point, it shouldn't be hard to remember when the Darkmoon Faire is active. This is our third month with the new Darkmoon Island. However, with both
Lunar Festival and
Love is in the Air in progress, we figure this friendly reminder can't hurt. It's incredibly easy to get caught up in the festivities with so many events happening at one time.
Remember, your Darkmoon Faire achievement progress
has been reset since last month. Don't wait until the last minute to take care of those! And if you need a little help with those achievements, we have
a guide for that.

Sadly, there's a bug in which some characters can't collect Grisly Trophies and Lovely Charms at the same time. This happened to me, and I "solved" it by slipping my Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide in my bank, which enabled me to generate Lovely Charms. Your mileage may vary.

I had that bug.
I fixed it by grinding out 250 trophies.
Turning in quest.
Lovely charms then began dropping again.
Was very annoying to not be able to get both, but thems the breaks sometimes. =)

Unfortunate that this week has us doing three simultaneous events. For those who aren't done with the Lunar Festival, and want to get the most out of the Faire and the Love event, it's going to be a busy week!

I loving the three-events-going-on-at-the-same-time month. Easy gold/xp/time waste in between queues. Febtober is the Best month ever.

I am the opposite. I kind of feel overwhelmed. I'm in the middle of the Molten daily grind, in addition to having the lunar festival to do, valentines, AND the faire. There's not enough dailies to do it all. And even if the daily cap was higher, it is very tiring.

I'd take time of the Molten Front for the events, if I was still running the Molten Front, that is.
Believe me, I did my run through the summertime lull, and it gets boring. Seriously boring. I reached the stage where I was wishing it was Children's Week so I could attempt School of Hard Knocks while simultaneously shoving glass shards into my eyes every time I ran a BG without accomplishing a step in the achievement.
You'll welcome the break.

I've noticed with the Fair if you are collecting Grizzly Trophys you cannot also get the items to make the bracelets.... ugh

The grisly trophies issue is a pain but I got round it by heading to the area in Uldum (for me at least) where the Crown Chemical guys are. Got "Test of Strength" out of the way in an hour knocking those guys out.

The best part about DMF being up is that it is a fantastic place to find those people you still need for the rose petal achievement. I got all of my alliance people there.
andrews Feb 7th 2012 1:49AM
DMF remains far too grindy. The games are not that fun, especially the canon one and I am only now hitting my first mount, with a bit of a help from a few drops. That is a long time for a "reward".
I would argue that it is poorly designed. Sure, someone could clean up if they focused only on it, but how many of us do that?
daimonie Feb 7th 2012 4:07AM
Andrews, i'd say that it is not a grind. Every month, when i see it's up, i hurry there to do, well, arcade games. Every month, i gather artefacts on all my alts. And every month, i go there, and wonder about the background of the faire.
And after a try or 10, the cannon one is fairly simple, isn't it?
Antonius.Prime Feb 7th 2012 6:35AM
If we had DMF every week, people would have everything already and the place would become IQD 3.0 / Argent Tourney 2.0
As it is I took my sweet time to do molten front. My alts are about to hit it, and simply the only reason they'll do that 3 month grind is because of the BoP profession recipes.
I'll be running my main through DMF as often as I can, simply to score tokens. And the monthly DMF profession quests are a godsend at 500 skill…
andrews Feb 7th 2012 2:54PM
No daimonie, the canon remains a big pain. I can hit it exactly one time and completely miss it the next. I know about what to do, but it is still quite difficult to get "right" and that makes it a huge grind.
I would suspect you don't run too many alts as I do, so I suppose it is less of a grind without doing that. I have skipped the dailies mostly realizing I will never hit most of its rewards.
andrews Feb 7th 2012 4:33PM
Also, getting zapped out of the whack-a-gnoll area when your time is up, especially in the middle of turning in the quest or even if you are standing outside the area is annoying.
Gordal Feb 7th 2012 7:54AM
You know what I would like? A vanity item that spawns a small barrel from the Whack-a-Gnoll game which pops up the Hogger doll after a few seconds.
That has to be worth at least 80 tickets.

DMF = once a month
Other celebrations = once a year
So yeah, the others are probably gonna take priority for me.
